A/N: Hi everyone!! I'm so glad you all are enjoying this book and are still here! I appreciate and love you all. I'm sorry I've been so bad about updating. I'm graduating in less than a month and this last semester has been slightly overwhelming. But here's a chapter! Hope you enjoy and thank you for being here!

"Bella! Come sit next to me!" I smile as the bouncing little girl comes running into the dining room, her father strolling in right after.

According to Mrs. Monroe, she had tennis this evening. And also according to Mrs. Monroe, Bella had skills. Okay, she said it in a fancier way than that, but that's the gist.

"Haley! You're back!" Bella basically screams as she runs up to me and gives me a hug, "When are you gonna make me a cake again?"

I laugh at her question, "Soon girlie, how about we make it together this weekend?"

I realize I should probably ask her parents if that's okay, seeming as how Mrs. Monroe wasn't too happy with me the last time I spent time with her daughter. Cause you know me, the terrible influence and all.

I look over to Mrs. and Mr. Monroe who are sitting next to each other, more concerned about the response I'll get from Mrs. Monroe. I give them a questioning look, "If that's okay with you, that is."

Mrs. Monroe's eyes widen ever so slightly at my question, surprised that I even asked permission in the first place, "Oh, um, sure. We have Jayden and Jenny's competition that morning, but after that is fine."

I nod, "Hear that Bella, we get to bake cake."

"Hey, do I get to?" Jayden whines like a baby beside me, "I want cake."

"We have to practice for Sunday's rounds, you don't have time to hang out with your girlfriend," She says girlfriend with an almost disgusted tone.

No, it was definitely a disgusted tone.

I think about calling her out on it. I want to call her out on it. I'm not one to let things like that slide. She's treating me like shit and I haven't even done anything to her. Not that I know of at least. I'm about to let it rip on Jenny when Jayden's hand settles on my thigh, giving it a hard but gentle squeeze. He looks over to me, his eyes telling me to not engage, that that is what Jenny wants. I pat his hand to let him know I understand and back off slightly even though the emotions are swirling inside me.

"Aren't you two usually done by dinner time?" Mr. Monroe, oblivious or just plain ignoring Jenny, asks, "Haley, why don't you and your dad come over for dinner and you can bake the cake then?"

"You want to meet my dad?" I ask.

Mr. Monroe nods, "He's the father of my son's girlfriend, I think it's only right."

Mrs. Monroe nods, "That sounds lovely, we'd love to meet your father, I hear he's an engineer?"

"Yeah, he does research and development at a company in the city over."

"Smart man," Mr. Monroe smiles at me, "Well then it's settled, Jayden can pick the two of you up after he's done."

I nod, feeling happy. I didn't think it'd feel so normal to be seated at the Monroe table. That I'd casually be making plans with my boyfriend's parents. I wasn't nervous for Jayden's parents to meet my dad. Like I wasn't nervous about dating Jayden. The only thing I was currently nervous about was making sure I didn't ruin the bubbling relationship with Mrs. Monroe.

"So Jenny," Mrs. Monroe changed true subject, "How are you feeling about this weekend, it's coming up so fast."

"Well, I'm the best and Jayden's the best so we've got this in the bag," She doesn't even hesitate to answer.
