I was a girl once strong and bold,
But life's blows left my spirit cold.
I was a girl known for her sharp mind,
Now adrift in shadows, leaving dreams behind.
I was a girl filled with confidence, standing tall,
Till words of doubt shattered my inner wall.
I was a girl who gave her trust,
Now guarded, my innocence turned to dust.
I was a girl who found comfort in the night,
Now darkness seems to hold me tight.
I was a girl once laughed at, in jest,
For my looks, they said were not the best.
I was the girl asked, "When will you be pretty?"
But true beauty, in her, was rarely seen, if any.
I was the girl whose laughter once filled the air,
Now every smile hides a burden hard to bear.
I was the girl who embraced life with a song,
Now every note feels broken, every melody wrong.
I used to wear a happy face,
But cruel words stole that smile's trace.
I used to laugh with the purest delight,
Now tears cloud my days and haunt my nights.
