Do you recall that moment in time,
When we first spoke, my nerves unaligned,
Your response was not quite smooth,
Yet, you opened up and shared your truth.

Do you long for those days,
When we laughed and joked in various ways,
Nods and signs became our speech,
And you were the comfort I would always seek.

You watched me from a distance,
As I stormed through the school's entrance,
Sporting a scowl on my face,
You remarked that I had no right to be in that place.

We were once enemies,
Disagreeing over our respective identities,
I couldn't speak up, feeling somewhat guilty,
But I still claimed "I am taller!", confidently and wilfully.

Though we're miles apart now,
Those memories linger like yesterday's vow,
I may be friendless and feeling blue,
But there's no one like you, so unique and true.
