The Words I Couldn't Say

In the same building, our paths would cross,
His presence a beacon, a silent loss.
Hoping for a glance, a fleeting chance,
But cruelly distant, in a dance.

Once he was nothing, just a face in the crowd,
Now a stirring feeling, silent and loud.
I dare not wish it dead, this unexpected flare,
Yet, I am just a Viean, plain and bare.

Simple, introverted, and nerdy am I,
Too ordinary for his discerning eye.
Each day I'd pass, his face I'd see,
Despite his flaws, captivating me.

In a corner, lost in a book,
He appeared, with a puzzling look.
I dared not meet his gaze, my heart aflutter,
Moments fleeting, like a shutter.

His presence beside me, unexpected and bold,
My heart raced, my palms turned cold.
His eyes, full of questions, gazing at me,
Words unspoken, yet longing to be free.

I yearned to speak, to break the silence,
But trapped within, in quiet defiance.
Butterflies danced, my heart in a sway,
Oh, if only I could convey.

Day by day, I learn his ways,
His flaws and scars, in silent displays.
Afraid to love, afraid to feel,
Yet longing for a love that's real.

Now, fear grips me, as he might depart,
So many words, locked in my heart.
