Ruhanika called aarav for a meet near garden bridge and it wasn't a nice day as her mind and sky were filled with dark clouds... Rainy dark clouds which could compare her tears.
It striked 2 in her watch when she saw from her car that aarav was running towards her with a rose bouquet in his hand with her favourite sugar-powdered cookies.
She got out of her car and stopped aarav when he was about to hug her, " I wanna say something"
"Tell me rose, what is it" aarav gave her a soft smile.
" We should breakup, aaru" ruhanika murmured slightly while looking down.
" What? " aarav giggled.
" I said we should breakup aarav! "
" Is this a joke to you? Why are you saying such a thing actually? " he laughed it off as she was joking.
" I never loved you, aarav singh rathore. It was a lie... Our love was just a lie" ruhanika caught him by his collar and yelled at him furiously...
Aarav was flabbergasted by her yellings as in another minute, The rain poured down, drenching them both as they stood face to face. Their eyes locked, filled with a mix of love and frustration. The sound of raindrops hitting the pavement echoed around them, adding to the intensity of the moment.
He took a deep breath, his voice trembling with emotion. "W-what happened baccha! Did anything happened? Did I do something wrong then just tell me, I'll do anything in my power to make things right... "
She looked at him, her eyes glistening with tears. "I never knew it was just an attraction, aarav," she whispered, her voice choked with regret. "I'm scared of letting you in completely, of losing myself in the process. I don't want to lose who I am."
He reached out, gently placing his hand on her cheek. "I understand your fears, but love requires vulnerability. We can't keep hiding behind our walls. We have to take the risk, together."
She closed her eyes, feeling the weight of his words and pushed his hand away, " Don't you understand what I just said... It was all an attraction. I never ever felt anything between us. Actually I was after you because my friends said so"
He pulled her close, his arms wrapping around her. "I promise to protect your heart, to cherish every part of you. Let's face our fears together, and I ought to provide everything for you, ruhi."
Aarav's face, usually radiant, was a mask of fury. Tears, indistinguishable from the rain streaking down his face, creating a war paint of heartbreak. "Don't you dare tell me that you don't love me! I know you, ruhanika. I've seen love for me in your eyes...w-why are you doing this"
Ruhanika flinched, the rain momentarily forgotten. "Aarav, I..."
"No! You don't get to say that anymore!" He shoved her, ruhanika stumbled back, the slick cobblestones sending her cold chills. He scrambled to his feet, anger igniting a fire in his gut.
"Don't act innocent!" She screamed back, her voice startled, "We both know this was a ticking time bomb. You want a life filled with sunshine and picket fences, and all I can offer is the chaos that comes with me"
"Chaos? Is that what you call it? Don't disrespect our love by calling it a chaos, rose. You loved me and I love you" aarav's voice trembled with a mixture of rage and hurt. "Is that your excuse for shutting me out, for disappearing for days on end without a word?"
Ruhanika winced. The accusations were a punch to the gut, a stark reminder of his failures, " I'm telling you the truth, aarav. I was just lying to you till now, i never ever fucking loved you"
"Seriously?" he laughed, a humorless sound that sent shivers down ruhanika's spine. "Don't you think I see the fear in your eyes every time you leave? Don't you think I long to be a part of it, to face it with you?"
Her heart ached. She longed to hold him, to shield him from the storm both outside and within. But the words wouldn't come. The truth, a tangled web of secrets and dangers, sat heavy on her tongue.
"This is for your own good, aarav," she finally managed, her voice barely a whisper drowned out by the rain.
"My own good?" he shrieked. "Don't you patronize me! If you loved me, you'd trust me, you'd let me in!"
A sob escaped her lips, fragile and raw. Ruhanika's resolve crumbled. She lunged forward, desperate for solace, desperate to bridge the chasm that had opened between them. But aarav flinched away, his eyes filled with a chilling mix of fear and loathing.
"Don't touch me!" she screamed, the finality in her voice a death knell to their relationship.
Aarav froze, his hand outstretched in a silent plea. The rain continued its relentless assault, a fitting backdrop for the wreckage of their love. They stood there, battered by the storm outside and the tempest within, two figures silhouetted against the city's neon glow, forever separated by a downpour of unspoken truths and shattered dreams.
"Are you f-for real, ruhanika... No, just tell me. Out of nowhere... You're blabbering all this. Was i a fucking joke to you, rose" aarav threw the bouquet and cupped her cheeks into his hands with tears in his eyes.
"I told you don't touch me, aarav. We're nothing... It's not 'US' anymore and I&U... Understood?"
"I don't know you and you don't know me" ruhanika screamed, sat in her car and locked herself inside...
Aarav started banging on her car's door, " P-please ruhanika... Don't do this to me. I'm sorry if I ever hurted you... P-please... " And he kept running beside her car while ruhanika just drove away...
She stopped her car after driving for few minutes and screamed, slapped herself, cried her lungs out... Wanted to kill herself or her dad...
And their first meet after their breakup was when aarav found ruhanika and decided to marry her in ought to seek revenge from her as she broke him... His heart, mind and soul...
She broke everything while she was broken herself!
