Dear Jesus,

From evening time when we arrived home with haste, driven by Lori who had appeared out of nowhere, till nighttime, I was in a delirious haze.

It occurred to me that this would be the second time in a row that I fell ill after a major supernatural healing spree, the first being on my birthday. I had no idea why this was happening but I hoped it wouldn't become a pattern.

Lori was particularly helpful with assisting me out of the car and into my room because by then I felt so nauseous that I could barely stand upright.

The pounding in my skull continued and I could barely think, no less pray. But my friends... My, my, they clucked all over me like a herd of mother hens. After praying over me, they stripped me of my dress, forced me to get a shower, and tucked me into the bed when I complained about the cold.

Pris was done preparing the chicken soup by that time but I didn't feel up to eating. Kathy fed me, I didn't even have the strength to feel embarrassed or to protest so I managed to sip about six spoons of the soup before I could take no more.

Lori just planted herself by my bed, her arms crossed as if restraining herself from doing anything.

Things got interesting when Portia couldn't keep in her frustration at Lori's obvious inaction and silence.

"Well, not to sound rude to you, ma'am, but can't you do anything to help her? Isn't she supposed to be your charge?" I heard Portia confront Lori.

I heard Lori's loud sigh as she responded.
"I only do the bidding of the Lord. I cannot heal her unless he permits me to do so. Everything is according to his will."

I think I heard Portia mutter, "Sure... His will."
Geez, the nerve! She should have been more respectful. Had she forgotten the scripture that warned against angering an angel?

"Woah, woah, woah!" Gen interrupted. "I don't get. I know y'all know this pretty lady here who popped out of nowhere. I mean, you allowed her to drive us all home-pretty cool driving skills by the way. But now I think my curiosity has reached the brim. Who is she?"

A terse silence settled over the room for a few seconds.

"Gen, Trish, brace yourselves for what you're about to hear..." Kathy began.

"Oh, cut to the chase, Kathlyn," Portia said.
Then to Gen and Trisha, my cousin dropped the bomb. "Girls, you're standing before none other than Radiance's guardian angel in flesh."

A brisk chuckle fell out of Gen's mouth and she said, "You're joking right?"

When she saw that they weren't joining her mirth, her mouth hung open and her eyes went as wide as discs.
It was hilarious watching her facial transformation from my half-shut eyes but I couldn't risk laughing.

Trisha said softly, "That explains the aura around you."

Gen shifted from one foot to the other. "Pardon my manners, ma'am. Are we supposed to bow or something? How do we address you?"

Lori smiled so brightly I could almost see her glory shimmer around her.
"Lori will do. Though my full name is Gloria. And no, no bowing. We only bow to God."

"Wow! I have so many questions," Gen said.

"Yeah, me too, but I'm guessing something serious is stirring that's why you're here," Trisha said.

It was a relief that they even believed this was my angel.

"The dark forces are rising and are all bent to snatch Radiance's soul. As much as you can, pray for her."
