29. Stark

Stephen looked to Tony and held up one finger, there one in over 14 million shots and Tony knew what he had to do as Thanos put on their gauntlet the last stone finally in place Tony struggled with it grabbing at the gauntlet but Thanos threw him aside.

'I am inevitable.' Thanos said snapping his fingers but nothing happened he looked to see that the stones were gone. Tony lifted his hand to show that the stones were now attaching to his Iron Man suit power coursing through him.

'And i... am...'

'No! Tony!' Alisha yelled flying towards him. He struggled as the pain coursed through him.

What do you do when the hero needs saving?

'...Iron Man.' he said snapping his fingers and Thanos's army was dusted away. They had won, they did it. They brought everyone back and they got rid of Thanos once and for all. Thanos watched as his army faded away in front of him. He's slowly sat down looking over at Tony, deep labored breaths as he too was dusted away.

Tony fell to the ground the pain of the infinity stones taking over him, Alisha and Rhodey gathered around him.

'No tony.' Alisha whimpered holding his face in her hands. "Tony you are going to be fine... Friday vitals?" She rasped. 

"I love you sis," he choked out. She hugged him gently, leaning her head into him.

"What am I going to do without you Tone?" Alisha whimpered. 

"Take care of Morgan and Pepper." Tony requested. 

'I'll take care of them. I promise. I love you tony.' She kissed his cheek. "I love you so much..."

"I love you kid, dont let my niece ever forget about her awesome uncle Tony." he instructed. 

"Never." Alisha agreed. 

'Mr. Stark' Peter said swinging down in front of them, 'Mr. Stark can you hear me? It's Peter.' he told him, 'we won Mr. Stark... We won Mr. Stark.' Peter told him 'we won... you did it you did it sir. I'm sorry Tony.' Peter said. Alisha pulled peter back into her arms as Pepper knelt before him.

'Hey' Pepper said softly leaning down putting your hand on top of his arc reactor, 'Friday?'

'Life functions critical' the AI answered

'Tony. Look at me,' Pepper said 'we are going to be OK' she told him. 'You can rest now.' With her hand on his arc reactor it went out and his hand dropped from hers. She kissed his cheek one last time.

It was a beautiful day for a terrible occasion. Everyone had gotten someone back but somehow they all felt completely broken without Tony Stark in their lives. Alisha really didn't know how she was going to live in a world without her big brother, without Tony Stark.

'Everybody wants to happy ending. But doesn't always roll that way. Maybe this time, I'm hoping if you play this back it's in celebration. I hope families are reunited I hope we get back somewhat of a normal version of a planet restored. If there ever was such a thing. God what a world. Universe now... if you told me 10 years ago that we were not alone, let alone to this extent I wouldn't have been surprised but come on! who knew epic forces of darkness and light come in to play? And for better or worse that's the reality that Morgan is going to have to find her way in. So I thought I better record a greeting in case of an untimely death on my part.. of course not that death at any time is untimely...'

Morgan sat between Pepper and Alisha watching as Tony was projected into the room. Maria sat in Alisha's lap gnawing on her teething ring. 

'This thing we are going to try and pull off tomorrow's got me scratching my head about this surviving this thing then again that is the hero gig, part of the journey is the end. What am I even tripping for everything is going to work out exactly the way it's supposed to. I know you love your Aunt ALisha 3000, but I love you 3000 and 1.' The holographic Tony said before shutting off the camera. His Iron Man helmet had projected him into the living room, they all stood around watching the last words of Tony Stark. They sent his first arc reactor heart into the water surrounded by a bouquet of flowers. Alisha, pepper and Morgan stood up front Morgan in between them hugging them tightly as the rest of the avengers their family and close friends all lined up silently to pay their respects to the man that saved the universe. It should have been a happy day but here they were dressed in black and tears running down their faces. The world would never be the same without Tony Stark.

"Ready..." Bruce whispered, the day passed in a blur, Steve was off to return the stones and Alisha felt this wave of pain run through her, like she knew she was going to lose someone else. "Is it the baby?"

"No, Jarvis said he was fine." Alisha assured. 

"He?"

"Just a guess." Alisha assured leaning into him as he took a breath. 

"Alisha, I didn't expect you to come see me off.' Steve told her as Bruce got the machine ready.

'Yeah well... I just wanted to say...' she pulled him away from Bucky and Bruce. 'you don't have to come back.'

"Wow I thought we were getting along.' Steve teased.

'Shut up.' She told him laughing. 'I'm serious. You love peggy. You love her so much. You have the option to go back in time and be with her.' Alisha informed him. 'We all lost a lot, shouldn't you take that chance at real happiness, real love? Gain something after all this. You should get a win, Steve.' Alisha instructed. 

'Ready steve?' Bruce called and Steve hugged Alisha goodbye.

"See you in a minute." Steve winked down at her. Bruce got the machine back into position, his arm still in a sling as soon as it was ready he wrapped his good arm around her.

'Yeah, lets get these stones back.' Steve agreed glancing back at Alisha and bruce. Could she be right? Could he just leave? Disappear and live a normal life with Peggy back in the 40s?

'Remember you have to return the stones the exact moment you got them or else you're gonna open a rift and open up some nasty realities.' Bruce told Steve as they got ready to send him back in time

'Don't worry bruce. Clip all the branches' steve said confidently.

'You know I tried' Bruce told him 'when I had the gauntlet, the stones I tried to bring her back. I miss her.' bruce admitted.

'Me too' Alisha told him. "Me too, Brucie."

'Alright Steve, we will meet you right back here... going quantum in three, two, one... And returning in five. Four. Three. Two. One.' Bruce said But nothing happened he wasn't back. Kat smirked.

'What's going on what's happening?' Bucky questioned.

'I don't know what happened he just flew right by his time stamp.' Bruce said trying to figure out what went wrong.

'Bring him back!' Sam told him.

'I'm trying.' Bruce assured them.

'Guys there's an old man sitting over there, he's got Steve's shield.' Alisha told them walking over.

'You were right.' Steve told her.

"I know. I usually am.' Alisha informed him seriously.

'Thank you Alisha.' Steve looked her over. "You havent changed a bit. Its been a long time."

'Seems so... Look at you capsicle, wow, still annoyingly handsome too.' Alisha teased. 'You gonna pass down the shield or can I give to morgan to sled with again?'

'Never change Alisha.' Steve added. 

"I think you are flirting with me and I should stop you right now, whatever dementia shit is going through that handsome head of yours, i'm still married." Alisha declared dramatically. 

"I forget what a Stark you are."
