Mia sat amongst the women from the Centauri pack. It was obvious from the moment she met them that each of them was special, and most definitely, beautiful. Right now, they all sat together eating macaroni and cheese. She didn't understand how such a legendary pack could be so ordinary. On top of that, there were bouncy-castles, games and other activates spread across the field for everyone to enjoy. She watched her own brother play the dunk-tank game, which shocked her to the point her mouth fell open and she took a bunch of secret photos. Her little family was playing games for the first time. She still couldn't wrap her head around it.
The alpha of the Centauri pack was hosting this lunch, but he was also nothing like she thought he'd be.
"It surprised me just as much when I joined," Sabrina said.
Mia looked over to the famous supermodel who was even prettier in person. She sat in a floral dress that showed her pregnant belly. Her chocolate brown hair set in loose curls around her shoulders as her aqua-jade eyes watched her mate.
"This pack is nothing like how I imagined," Mia said.
Sabrina laughed fondly. "I had the same reaction. But this pack protect each other and fight for what's right."
"Are the bouncy-castles a normal occurrence?" Mia asked.
"Oh, definitely," Zoya pitched in as she ate with gusto.
"While it's still warm, we like to have all the fun we can," Sabrina said.
"You should come when the hills are covered with snow," Hailey added. "Everyone goes sledding."
"I've never been sledding," she shared as her hand drifted over the brace on her leg.
"It's okay, we'll take you," Zoya added.
"You're pregnant, how are you going to go sledding?" Hailey said.
"I can watch, can't I," Zoya remarked.
A woman shouted across the field. Mia and everyone else looked over their shoulder only to see Viola being thrown into the dunk-tank machine after losing against her brothers. Mia's eyes landed on Vadik who stood with his brother. Both of them seemed like they were calmer here, none of the tensions from the world followed them.
"Can we ask you something?" Sabrina said.
Mia looked at the women whose eyes were staring at her only. "Sure," she said.
"Are you Alec's mate?" Sabrina asked.
"What? No!" she answered.
"No-" the three women responded.
"I mean, Alec's not my mate specifically," Mia said.
The girls exchanged a look before gasping in realization.
"Alec is-" Hailey began.
"Mate's with-" Zoya continued.
"Kade!" Sabrina astonished.
"Yeah," she answered.
"Then that means, Vadik is yours," Zoya said with a grin.
Mia's cheeks reddened instantly as she remembered the conversation she had with Vadik at night outside in the garden. "I don't know what to say," she looked down at her plate mixing the macaroni around.
The three of them squealed in excitement. "Wait, do they know about it too?" Hailey asked them.
"We all know, except Kade, I think," Mia said. "He never said anything otherwise."
