RUDY GRACE SILVER

"Hurry up!" Lesli mind links me.

"Coming. Coming." I tell her and shift mid-air, turning into my jet-black wolf, Ellie.

I pass a few Gold pack members who give me the respect my title tells them to give.

_____________

"Oh, my Goddess, Rudy, you have no idea how ready I am to turn eighteen. Be of age, get to basically do whatever I want. It sounds like a dream." Lesli says, sighing on her bed.

But I did know how ready I was because she hadn't shut up about it since we became teenagers.

"I know! I'm honestly still so shocked your birthdays so soon." I tell her.

She giggles before saying, "Oh, I know. I can't wait, it's literally so exciting." she says.

"Lesli? Rudy?" Lesli's mother, Megan, calls.

"Yeah?" Lesli calls back.

"Dinner is ready!" she replies.

We get up and make our way downstairs and into the kitchen.

Once we sit down at the table her mom starts passing out food and we make our plates.

"Where's Carter and Ethan?" Lesli asks her parents.

"I'm not entirely sure, darling. Carter mentioned he would be home later, and you know how it is wherever one twin goes the other follows." Megan replies.

She wasn't wrong. Not that I had seen the twins very much; they were never here. But when I did see them, they were always together, and always did things together.

It was honestly kind of cute.

"So, Rudy, how is your family doing?" Lesli's father, Drew, asks me.

"Oh, there doing good." I answer, pushing food away from each other on my plate.

I didn't really know how my parents were doing. The few times a got to spend time with them it was always about pack stuff. I get it there really important or whatever but sometimes I just wish I could be their daughter and not their heir.

"That good. How's um... Parker?" he asks me.

Right... Uncle Parker.

Uncle Parker was... weird. We used to get along really well, but something happened to him. He's very angry all the time and he can't have a normal conversation without lashing out. My parents don't let me around him alone.

"I don't know... Uncle Parker hasn't visited in a while." I tell Drew honestly.

He opens his mouth to say something but his mate, Megan, swats him arm.

"How's school going for you both?" Megan asks.

Thankfully Lesli answers before I have to say anything.

"It's school. Nothing more nothing less." she says, jokingly.

I nod my head in agreement.

The rest of dinner is filled with small talk and easier questions. Drew seemed to take the hint from his mate that he needed to stop asking personal questions. I was thankful for her.

"Lets go upstairs." Lesli says.

I nod and follow her up but by the short time we reach the top of the steps she says, "Actually I think I'm going to take a shower."
