"Rudy, we need you to push." the doctor tells Rudy for what seems like the millionth time.
I go to grab Rudy's hand, but she smacks in away.
"Don't you touch me! You did this to me!" Rudy screams at me.
Alpha Calista wipes a washcloth over Rudy's sweaty forehead as I start to pace again.
"Alright one big push mama! You got this!" The doctor says again.
Rudy screams as her face contours in pain and I wipe at the sweat on my temple.
The sounds of a baby crying makes me open my eyes that I had no idea were closed.
"A boy." The doctor says holding my pup.
As the doctor hands me the baby I sigh down at my boy. I walk over to Rudy and lean the baby near her as happy tears fall down her face.
We knew we were having twins, but we decided to be surprised with the genders. I was to name the firstborn and Rudy was to name the second.
"Alright mama you're doing great, just one more time." The doctor said again. Rudy lets out a pained sigh as she starts to push again. One of the nurses comes and takes my pup and I take Rudy's hand. This time she doesn't push me away.
"I can see the head. Alright, one more big push."
Rudy screams again squeezing my hand to the point I wonder if it'll come off; it doesn't.
The room fills with yet another sound of cries.
"Girl." The doctor says, handing the baby to Rudy.
The nurse hands my boy back to me and I look down at him adorningly.
"I have my name. But you go first." she tells me.
I was worried she wouldn't like it but I stopped myself. She trusted me. I trusted her. So, I tell her the name of our little boy.
"Knox Carter Richman." I tell her and more tears fall from her face. I smile down at her with more love than I thought I could ever feel.
"Edith Elizabeth Richman."
Edith. She knew.
Edith, my grandma, means so much to me and she knows.
She hands me Edith and I give her Knox. As I stare down at my little girl happiness fills me.
She opens her eyes and I look down and see the woman's eyes I fell in love with. Edith has Rudy's eyes. She yawns and makes a baby squeak and I almost die of cuteness.
My eyes wonder to every face of my family. My sweet little family.
