"Oh Juliet, you look lovely," Rebecca said as I walked slowly down the stairs.
"You look stunning," Dallas commented as he stepped forward to help me down off the last step.
"So, what do you guys think of my dress?" I asked spinning in a circle.
"I love it," Rebecca said admiring it.
"You're beautiful Cinderella but saying that, you could have went in rags and still looked like a Queen," Dallas smiled.
I hadn't let either of them see my dress up until that moment. I wanted my dress to have the full effect, which meant no one could see it until the very day prom came around.
My dress was a pale blue sweetheart and floor length. It had a thick strip of lace running down on one side and a diamond waistband. I had tied my dark brown hair up into an elegant loose bun with loose strands running down my face.
"Dallas you're looking good yourself," I said taking him in. He was dressed in a black suit with a white shirt complete with a pale blue tie which matched perfectly with my dress. "Hey, we even match in colours."
"Sam picked it out for me and since he's seen your dress beforehand, I took his advice and chose to wear it over the dark red one I had previously planned to wear."
Dallas produced a corsage which had a single white rose and slipped it onto my wrist.
"Dallas," I gave him a big hug. "It's beautiful."
"Almost as beautiful as you."
"I need both of you to stand out over in the garden so that I can get some photos of the two of you together," Rebecca said ushering us out of the house and onto the back garden.
"We've got to go otherwise we'll be late," I said grabbing Dallas's hand and pulling him back through the house and towards his car.
"You two have fun!"

"Be quiet," Leon hissed squatting my head down.
"I can't help the fact that the bush is so loud. I'm trying not to get dirt on my dress," I complained. "Can't we just make a dash for it now?"
"Timing is everything," Leon said crouched down.
We had been there for what seemed like forever, crouching down behind a large bush. Prom was being held in our overly huge school hall and there were teachers not just chaperoning inside the hall but also waiting and watching outside. What were they watching and waiting for? I don't know. But my guess was something like this.
I rolled my eyes and bit my tongue. If we were going to do this we were going to have to do it properly. We needed to get inside prom.
"Any minute now and Mr Quinn will rotate with someone, which means that there won't be anyone supervising the outside," Leon said looking like a predator ready to pounce on its prey.
"Now's our chance!"He jumped up and sprinted across the car park pulling me alone just behind him.
We made it through the front doors of the school and started into the hallway.
Leon suddenly grabbed my hand and pulled me left into the boys bathrooms.
"Are you crazy!" I exclaimed before he claimed a hand over my mouth."Shhhh, be quiet," Leon whispered into my ear still covering my mouth.
I tried to get out of his firm grip but he just held me there.
"Ouch!" He cried realising me and rubbing his hand. "Why'd you bite me for!"
"Jee, I don't know?" I pretend to think putting my hand on my chin. "Maybe because you dragged me into the boys bathroom and covered my mouth!"
"Keep your voice down you're going to get us-".
"Caught?" Mr Quinn walked in opening the door to the bathroom.
"I can explain-".
"I'm sure you can but no need," he said interrupting me. "I know prom is exciting for you both but please we don't need to be dealing with this nonsense. What you do with your love life outside or school is fine but when you bring that into school and start getting physical on school property is where we have an issue."
"I'm sorry sir, but I don't think you quite understand the situation here," I said feeling my cheeks growing hotter by the second. Mr Quinn had the completely wrong idea.
"No, Juliet the man is only doing his job," Leon gave me a look that told me to stay out of it. "We're not going to stand here like fools and pretend to be innocent. I will admit we were just getting a tad bit ahead of ourselves. Being nominees for Prom King and Queen really just made everything seem more exciting and daring but I can assure you it was all in the heat of the moment."
"I see," Mr Quinn pierced his lips together and glared at myself and Leon for what seemed like forever.
"Now, since it's a special night for you both I'm going to pretend this didn't happen and I trust you'll leave your extra activities alone for the rest of the night.""We'll control ourselves," Leon grinned. "Thank you, sir."
We hurried out of the bathrooms and began making our way toward the hall.
"Why did you say all of that back there!" I exclaimed no longer being able to told my tongue.
"Don't give me that angry face," Leon grinned. "Mr Quinn is an old fashioned teacher. He has no idea were not supposed to be at prom. All he thinks is that we are two reckless teenagers who were about to hook up in the toilets and he stopped it from happening on school property. Besides wouldn't you rather have him think that then us sneaking into prom. I mean if I hadn't come up with that on the spot we would've been caught out and sent home."
I thought about what Leon said for a moment. It was true. As bad as it was, I would rather have a teacher who didn't even take one of my classes think that I was hooking up with someone in the bathroom rather then get chucked out of prom, especially since we'd come so far.
"Looks like you can be useful sometimes," I smiled.
"See Mr Meyers, what did I tell you?" Veronica's unnaturally high pitched voice rang down the hallway. "They were trying to crash and break into prom."
Looking ahead, I saw Mr Meyers marching straight for us down the long corridor with Veronica marching beside him and none other than her minion Callie chasing not far behind.
