"Hey."

"Hey."

That was all the two teenagers said to each other when they met up that Saturday afternoon. Awkward tension obviously still in the air, they held eye contact for a few seconds before both of them looked away from each other, not knowing how to proceed following their conversation over the phone the other day. They stood there like statues, both not daring to utter a word, gaining stares from the ahjummas nearby.

Jungwon sighed, closing his eyes for a brief moment before deciding to speak. But as he opened his eyes again, he caught Taerin staring right at him. And now, they were staring right into each other's eyes. Taerin immediately looked away upon being caught, but Jungwon acted unfazed.

"So, where are we going to eat?"

"Oh.... uh... up to you."

"I have no idea what food is in this area."

"Oh.... what do you feel like eating?"

"Honestly, bread."

"What?"

"Yeah."

"Well.... there's an Issac Toast around here, I just need to find it. But there's no seating."

"Then whatever you want. I'm fine with anything. I don't have the luxury to be picky."

"Oh..."

"Oh uh... I mean, I'm not picky. I like food, all food. Yeah.... food."

"Ah.... then shall we eat pasta?"

"Yes sure I like pasta."

"Right, this way." Taerin started walking, ears turning red. She started pulling on her hair again, a habit when she was feeling shy. Jungwon followed closely behind her as she led him through the busy streets teeming with people. His hands have subconsciously made their way onto her shoulder, while she was fully aware of the contact and her rapidly beating heart.

"We're- ah!" Taerin suddenly came to a stop, but this caught Jungwon off guard, causing him to bump into her. Clumsy and already not focused due to their physical closeness, she found herself falling, but never reaching the ground, as a strong hand had wrapped around her waist, pulling her close.

"S-sorry... You suddenly stopped and I.... You alright?" A cherry-faced Jungwon stuttered.

"Y-yeah..." He let go as she regained her balance. "Anyways, here's the place."

"Great, let's go in. I'm hungry."

The wait for the food was awkward as their conversation seemed to dull. Jungwon glanced around, wishing the food would arrive sooner. Taerin just fiddled with the utensils, constantly drinking water. The waiters had started thinking to themselves that this "couple" was awfully awkward and quiet.

"So...." Jungwon finally decided to break the tension. "Do you stalk all your guy friends like that?" A small smirk played on his lips as he started twirling the fork between his fingers. This caught Taerin off guard.

"W-what? No! I didn't stalk- I mean, well I- I just- I don't have any other guy friends." Taerin stuttered and looked away from him, before getting distracted by the twirling fork. "Stop that." She grabbed the fork from Jungwon's fingers and placed it back in it's original place.

"Oh, so I'm the only guy in your life?"

"There's Taehyun...."

"Yeah he's your brother, it doesn't really count."
