↻ ◁ II ▷ ↺JULES WROTE THE LAST SENTENCE ON her notebook, and closed it with no remorse. Her house was empty, the silence started to become deafening, she didn't have anything else to focus on but finishing homework.
Grabbing her phone, she got ready to send a text to the groupchat.
Julie 💓: Im done with school
Julie 💓: How long til youre back? She waited for a reply, hoping it would arrive soon. They were always on their phones, someday they'd have to prioritize their daughter's texts to make sure she was okay.
She put the phone down, biting her lips. It was deadly quiet, she should've at least turned on the living room's TV. The phone didn't ring, not even a notification, Jules ran her hands through her hair and nodded to herself.
She stood up and looked for a snack, there were plenty of fruits. In the silent kitchen, she peeled some oranges, hearing her steady breathing. In a bowl, she placed the slices carefully, and tried to avert her eyes from the picture.
She did this everyday, putting all her might into not letting her stare fall over the portrait in the living room. She didn't like seeing it, didn't like remembering it. Sometimes the memory would bring her to tears, and she promised she wouldn't cry about it anymore.
She was past it.
She heard her phone ring on her room, and with the fruit bowl she ran up the stairs. Worringly, she grabbed the device and read the notification.
