A/N: it took me SO long to write this chapter idek why. Enjoy tho!
RYLIE
As we pull into Zach's street I feel the nerves settling into my stomach. And that's when we pull into a long driveway that goes for at least half a mile before showing a modern looking two story house.
I look down at my phone to check the time and also happen to see that Dylan text the group chat twenty minutes ago, again. Probably talking about his party.
Dylan
Yoooo partys soon I need to know who's coming bcuz my mom might show up from a business trip early and we can't have the house packed like it usually is in case we need yall to sneak outAaron
Gray and I gonna b thereKasey
I might sneak out but im not sure ill lyk!"Who are you texting?" Zach suddenly asks. My head snaps to my left startled by his sudden question.
"Uh just Kasey." I tell him, but I'm not fully lying, I am kind of texting Kasey, but can you really blame me? He doesn't like Aaron or Dylan or Grayson, so he would be pissed.
Rylie
Imma be late Im in the middle of somethingI type before I turn off my phone and look over to Zach and catch him peeking at my phone. I nervously chuckle and clear my throat.
His eyes trail up to mine. "Ready?"
I nod and smile.
I exit the car before waiting for Zach to take the first few steps to his front door. I follow him up to his mansion like house and look down at my shoes expecting him to pull out his keys to unlock the door.
But he doesn't.
Instead a women maybe in her mid thirties comes to the door. She is khaki pants and black button up with slacks, her hair is tied up into a slick back low bun.
"Oh, hello Zach." she elegantly says, "Come in, come in." and pulls the door open wider.
"Hey, Addy. Where are my parents?" he asks as he grabs ahold of my hand and guides me through the entryway.
"In the dining room, they are all ready for you." she tells him before closing the door and walking off into another room.
Zach keeps ahold of my hand and squeezes it as if he's reassuring me to remain calm, he guides me through a long hallway before we enter the gorgeous dining room. A candle lit chandelier hanging above the rectangular wooden dining table.
I see a woman and a man. The woman has beautiful long black hair that reaches down to her back. Her eyes are a light brown with a hint of green, her face looks like she's below the age of fifty.
As for the man, he has blonde slicked back hair with a few streaks of gray. his eyes are a dark brown and looks to be way older than the woman.
"Ah, Zach there you are!" the woman exclaims before happily running into Zach's arms, they hold the hug for a few seconds before breaking apart. Her eyes roam to mine.
"And you must be Rylie." She says smiling even wider.
I reply with the same wide smile as hers, "Hi Mrs. Branson, it's a pleasure to meet you." I let go of Zach's hand to put my hand out for her to shake.
"Oh please honey, call me Rachel," she takes my hand and shakes it, "And the pleasure is all mine."
That's when Zach's father walks up to us. He smiles before saying, "Hello miss Rylie, it's so nice to meet you," he puts his hand out. "I am Daniel, and I've heard a lot about you."
I take his hand, "Hope all good things," I awkwardly chuckle as do the others in the room.
"Let's eat, yeah?" Zach interrupts us. All eyes snap to him as we all nod our heads in agreement.
I end up sitting next to Zach while Rachel is across from me and Daniel is across from Zach. The same women who opened the front door served us a steak with mashed potatoes, broccoli and green beans.
"So Rylie, how long have you live in New Jersey?" Daniel asks me, before shoving a mouthful of mashed potatoes in his mouth.
I swallow the remaining pieces of broccoli and reply with, "About a month ago from Arizona."
Daniel swallow his food before speaking, "Oh what city?"
"Patagonia."
Rachel butts in with, "Oh I have a friend in Patagonia, her name is CiCi and she works at the public library downtown! Maybe you know her."
"Mom, Rylie doesn't know everyone in Arizona." Zach tells his mom.

The rest of dinner was just the basic questions parents usually ask. And after our meal Zach and I have been hanging out in his room, just talking.
"Yeah sorry if my parents bombarded you with questions during dinner, sometimes they just get out of hand."
I shake my head and grin, "No, they were cute, I love them."
"That's good because what Im about to ask you next would be awkward if you didn't like them." he nervously laughed.
Zach grabs my hand and deeply looks into my eyes, "Rylie Rose, will you be my girlfriend?"
"I-uh yes." is all that comes out of my mouth.
Zach grins from ear to ear, "Really?" he says keenly.
I smile, "Yeah--I--yes!"
"Great." he says before leaning into me and gently placing his lips on mine.
