Elektra's pov:

I was walking in a green field with my mother by my side when I heard someone calling me in the distance. I turned back and saw a man I couldn't decipher who he was. The man was walking to a fast pace.  As the man got closer, I was able to recognize him. It was Alexander. He came closer while my mother held me tightly by the elbow.

-"You have to stay here with me" mother told me in an imposing manner.

- "But mom, he's ......he's my......." I tried to explain in vain while my mother started to drag me to the opposite location.

- "Elektra, wait! Please wait!" Alexander's voice came  making me stop in my tracks. I turned back to face him. He was dressed in white, more handsome than any other time. When he was inches apart from me he gave me a wide smile and hugged me tightly sending to my body several positive vibes. His hug made me feel loved and safe.

-"I was looking for you everywhere" he said in despair.

-"Really?" I wondered with wide eyes and continued "I thought you forgot about me"

-"No! How could I? You are everything to me" he reassured me.

-"Really? Is that why you left her alone all this time?" my mother cut in. She seemed irritated by Alexander's presence.

-"I....I love your daughter Skylar. Don't judge me so harshly" Alexander said sincerely.

-"My daughter will come with me. You had your chance and failed. Now it's my turn," she countered in a defiant way.

-"How can you be so cruel, Skylar? Don't you see that your daughter deserves to be happy?'

-"With you? Don't make me laugh, Alex. You're so broken you can't even make yourself happy. Besides where were you all this time that my daughter was fighting for her life? You abandoned her preferring another's woman company" she said venomously breaking my heart into several pieces.

-"Is it true?" I asked Alexander between sobbing.

-"Elektra,...please let me explain"

-"What to explain? I am not going to let you hurt her again. Leave!" my mother yelled at him

-"I won't" Alex said stubbornly. "Listen to me Elektra. I know I wasn't a good mate to you. I ignored and left you when you needed me the most. But to my defense I didn't do it on purpose. A very good friend of mine was dying from cancer. She had no one else but me. I had to help her"

-"While my daughter was enjoying life...." my mother intervened again in a sarcastic way.

-"Electra is a strong woman who had her friends by her side"

-"Nonsense. Don't try to justify your ignorance with cheap words. You were totally absent in her life"

-"That's not true. I was by her side the whole time trying hard to help her overcome her fears. She decided to leave me, even though I only lived for her."

-"You only cared about your revenge" my mother countered with the atmosphere heating up.

-"Whereas you came to take her with you at the first opportunity. You didn't even think about helping her get her life back" Alex contradicted.

-"She had no life down there" mother said in an absolute tone.

-"Nonsense. She has a mate, a woman that loves her like a mother, friends, her pack, her everyday life. Elektra don't give up, fight for your life! Please hear me out! Don't go with her. She doesn't love you as much as we do" he begged me.

-"I.....I.....really don't....know..." I said confused. On one side stood my mother: a mother I never met since I lost her when I was a baby and always longed for her kisses and caresses, while on the other stood my mate: a mate who always was by my side until he abandoned me in the most difficult period of my life. I was so confused I didn't know who to choose.
