"Pandora isn't a monster. She's a reflection of you."
[Reader] parted her lips, hesitant whether to let out a gasp. She settled on something simpler instead. "Woah, crazy."
Nahida blinked twice before smiling. "I guess there can still be good things that arise from taking care of the wanderer. I'm getting better on picking up sarcasm."
"Did you really have to say that?" Kuni complained with a hand on his waist.
[Reader] let out a laugh to butt in. "Yeah, well...with how things have been very unpredictable so far, you get used to it."
The dendro archon couldn't help but be affected by her goofy attitude. "I truly do love how your aura shines so bright, [Reader]."
Nahida smiled appreciatively, like that one friend who'd support everything you do and love you for it.
[Reader] pursed her lips. "...By chance, if you have yes and yes as your options, would you adopt me?"
Her hopeful curiosity halted as she felt a prickly sensation on her cheeks after being hit by a flying boomerang or hat frisbee from a certain person. "That hurt, you ass!"
"Stop stealing my mom!" The wanderer screeched.
"You can just share." Aether commented, just plain amused by the situation instead of intervening.
Nahida sweatdropped at the scene. "Apologies. My hands are full with just one spawn from hell." She smiled guiltily.
[Reader] laughed her ass off while pointing at the betrayed wanderer.
"I fear I cannot handle another." Nahida added shortly after, clutching a mysterious handcloth as she wiped a dramatic tear.
Aether then cackled loudly while holding his stomach, imprinting in his mind the faces of the two humbled beings.
"Paimon doesn't see how it's a laughing matter for you, Aether. Have you forgotten you're the caretaker of that devil girl?"
In the end, none of them was really laughing anymore. Only the author and the audience had the last laugh this time.
