Third Person POV

"You're free to go." Aether opened up the cage to let a certain girl out, removing the bamboo bars with his magically editing tool.

"FREEDOOOOOOMMM!!"

[Reader] gleamed in joy as she run like a wild tiger who just saw the outside jungle for the first time.

"So this is what grass feels like. The wind smells so fresh out here too! You don't know how long I've been locked up in there, but who's counting?" She inhaled deeply and rolled over the grass like the good dog she is.

"Actually, I am." Aether stared at her like a crazy exaggerated person, not daring to mention how he kept looking at his clock as each second passes and being paranoid about how [Reader] was doing.

In the end, he let her out exactly an hour and one minute, not bothering to fulfill the 2-hour time duration he was threatening her with earlier.

Someone coughed, grabbing their attention.

"Oh Xiao! I nearly forgot you were here heh." [Reader] admitted straightforwardly.

The adeptus glared at her forgetfulness, scoffing at the fact that she didn't even thank him for his company.

"I was just leaving." He replied coldly, turning around to leave the realm but his heart tugged when he heard the words he was waiting for.

"Thank you, Xiao. We'll see each other again, right? It's fun hanging out with you."

He didn't need to turn around to see if she was smiling. He already felt it through her kind words.

Why was she saying those words to him? Doesn't she know that he was a monster? Someone who kills easily with just one strike of his polearm.

Yet...he didn't dare push her away. He was already deprived of human contact as it is, couldn't he be selfish for once and keep this girl around?

He was silent for a minute. A minute that [Reader] didn't hesitate to wait for instead of acting like an impatient bitch.

He tilted his head to the side slightly, only letting [Reader] see his face. One that said he was also looking forward to meet her.

With that, he left. But that look was more than enough for [Reader] to be happy.
