THEO AND REED'S BABY FEVER : Book Three

Chapter Three

     All their family and friends thought their adopting a baby was the best idea ever except for the very irritating Charles who kept calling Theo and laughing over the very idea of Theo raising a baby. Or as he called it " a creature ". Charles claimed the " creature " would be doomed to be bullied forever and a day because of Theo's lack of fashion sense. Also , Charles chortled , Reed would have him fist fighting to protect the common good of society.  Charles had so " selflessly " volunteered to dress the " creature " until it defended  itself from Theo's What Not To Wear influence. He also had already declared himself Fairy Godfather. Theo could just picture him showing up at the baptism wearing a Marlo Brando suit and long trench coat , telling everyone to " do it for the family ". 

Speaking of being Godfather Saint , Matt and Talisha had asked Theo and Reed to be Olivia's godfathers.  Of course they said yes.  Reed hadn't stopped strutting like a peacock since they had asked them. Theo swore that Reed's phone was going to break from all the pictures of Livvie , Dosie , Winnie and Theo himself. 

The soon to be grandparents were also thrilled especially Cynthia who was making for lost time after she had recently made up with her son Reed. They talked three times a week now and she was even debating moving to the D.C. area. Reed doubted she would really do it since she was born and raised in Sweet Flower and all her friends were there. Cynthia was even emailing Theo on the regular. She sent old baby pictures of Reed. Theo loved them all especially the one of him naked on a bearskin rug. Reed wanted him to delete all the pictures. Theo would do anything for his husband but he wouldn't do that. 

Of course they still had to find a baby first. That was why they were all dressed up in their Sunday church suits and shined up shoes , nervous as all hell  and heading for their first interview at the Bundle of Joy Adoption Agency. 

Although when they saw the small horde of protesters standing outside the tidy one story building screaming and holding signs that said " God Hates Unnatural Pervert Families " they wondered if they were making a terrible mistake. Of course if they could see the future they would have gotten back in Reed's car and sped off. 

Or maybe not.
