All Reed wanted to do was get his husband home again. Then they would figure out what the hell was going on. Because Reed didn't have a clue right now.

All Theo wanted to do was get home to strip off his jail infested blood stained tee shirt that the cops hadn't even taken. He knew the MPD had a reputation for being incompetent but he hadn't known it was that bad. Of course maybe their incompetent police work was in his favor. Because he was free. Now he just needed to stay free.

As they left the station they were literally assaulted by questions from a crowd of reporters.

" Are you being charged with the murder of famed LGBTQA lawyer Vanessa Clyde?"

" Why were you trespassing at her office? "

" Why are you released? "

" No comment! ," Reed said as he tried to shield Theo from them.

" And you are , sir ? "

" No comment! Get the hell away from us. "

They ran for Reed's car. When they were inside it Reed turned to him and said," Theo , I know you could never hurt anyone but I need to know exactly what happened today at that office. So we can figure out how much trouble you might be in. What happened? "

Theo sighed. " I came. I went in. I fell. The cops showed up and everything got confused from there. That place in there is a disaster area. I don't think that the cops know what they are doing. "

Reed shook his head. " I hope they do because unless they find the real killer you're looking like a prime suspect as they say in cheesy mystery books. Did you talk to a homicide detective? "

" No. Just the uniforms at the office. They were like Chief Wiggum on the Simpsons. Do you think I need a lawyer? "

Reed sighed. " It couldn't hurt. "

" No. I don't need a lawyer. I need to clear my name before I get a record. Like Miss Marple. "

" Are you insane, Theodore?"

Theo thought that was a definite possibility.
