Chapter Eleven

Lily opened her eyes and immediately coughed out water, "Sarah! Lily!" JohnB calls out, "I'm here!" Sarah yells coughing as well, "Yeah, me to." Lily says holding onto the rope. JohnB makes his way towards the girls, he kisses Sarah then hugs Lily. They look around to see nothing but water, Sarah sees a boat from afar and they start screaming. Lily grabs the gold she had and pointed it toward the sun so it can reflect and reach the other boat. "They see us!" JohnB yells, the massive boat arrives towards them and helps them up. "Oh, man yall lucky we came through here." a man says handing them each a towel.

They walk up the stairs and reach a warm room, "Have a seat." the man says, "Thank you." Lily says giving him a soft smile. "So where the hell where yall trying to go?" the man asks looking at them three soaking wet. "Can you drop us off at the next port? It doesn't matter where." Sarah asks and he looks at JohnB warm up with Sarah. "I was young and in love once, turned into a goddamn disaster. It was fun while it lasted."

"Yeah, love don't work out for me. But where did you say you were going again?" Lily asks looking at the man. "Forgot you were there but it's Nassau." he laughs as he replies back. "The Bahamas." Sarah says smiling, "The gold." JohnB says resting his chin on her head.

Meanwhile the others were standing by a tree, Pope gets an axe and breaks the bark off, JJ grabs a torch and lights a tool. He stamps 2003 to 2020, John B Routledge and Lily Maybank, and P4L. Kiara looks at a photo of them all together, "To Lily and JohnB." JJ says holding up a flask. "And to Sarah." Kie says trying not to cry. Pope takes a drink off beer, he could only think about the good memories.

They dug a hole and planted a box of Lily and JohnBs things in there, Kie put flowers on top, JJ put Lily's empty alcohol bottle on one side, and Pope put JohnBs bracket on the other.

A couple days passed and Pope tried to do school work but couldn't, he started at the pictures on the wall. Kiara was always in the water to clear her head. JJ poked himself with a needle, added ink and wrote P4L on his ankle. Rafe went to the sheriffs funeral feeling nothing but guilt, hatred for his father. That he could've been there with the girl he couldn't stop thinking about. Thinking she died that night.

Lily woke up the next day to Sarah and JB talking, they had slept in a room in the back. The door opens and it's the man from yesterday, "Goodmorning yall, coming into port. Best not be onboard without a passport, you guys can go on my bridge." he says looking at them each.

They walk up the stairs and look down at the man giving him a smile. "Stay out. Don't come out." the dark haired man says before closing the door. Lily looks around to see a big island, "It's beautiful here." she says looking at the clean water, "Welcome to Nassau." Sarah says behind her. She takes Lily's finger and points it to a house, "That's my family's house." Sarah says nodding. "Woah, super kook."

They arrive at dock and look out the window, to see the man who helped them earlier bring the cops into the boat. Lily grabs metal beside her and smashes the window, "Lily what the hell?" JohnB says, "You can stay here and get caught, I didn't run away from Outer Banks for nothing." she says climbing out the window. Sarah goes next then JB and just as he climbs out the police walk in the room.

They run off the dock, passing a bunch of people, they follow Sarah to a bush. "I think I know where to go." she says checking for the clear then running again. They stop running when they get to a big walk way. "This is the safest place for us to be." Sarah says, Lily looks at the sign to see a five star hotel. "Lily I know that look, just trust me." she says.

They walk in and get stopped by a worker, "Can I help you?" the worker asks, "Actually yes. Can I have a bottle of water." Lily asks in an accent, she looks around and sees a waitress and grabs water off her plate. "Thank you. I am so parched." Lily adds trying to keep the fake accent. "What time is our reservation?" Sarah asks looking at JohnB catching onto Lily's plan. "Our reservation is at 4:30 ish." JohnB says clueless but goes along, "You have a reservation?" the worker asks, they all nod.

"We have a harbor view line on the third floor.
We been patrons of your hotel for years. And I'll be very sure the manager knows this service here, Elliott. Thank you." Lily says pretending that she's mad, they walk away and up the stairs. "That was badass Lily." Sarah says giving the girl a high five. They walk onto the roof and look at the view. "We used to come here as kids when they were building the vacation house." Sarah says pointing toward a big house, "I bet that's where the gold is." JB says, Lily sits down wiping her sweat off her forehead. "Promise me you won't do anything stupid." Sarah asks looking at the brown haired boy, "Well Sarah Cameron, I do stupid things all the time without realizing it." he replies back.

"I know you wanna go over there. But there is a gate, with security, patrols, and it's a death trap." Sarah reassures him, "Just think about it. If I can get some money, I can get me and Lily a lawyer. I can clear our name and we can go home."

"No. JohnB you are wanted, and so is Lily. It's just way too dangerous." Sarah says shaking her head, "Yeah. Okay I promise." he replies back.

They sit down and Lily looks over at JB to see he has a phone, "Where did you get that?" she asks making Sarah look that direction as well, "Who's is that?" Sarah asks leaning up in her chair, "Borrowed it, for a minute. Sending a message from beyond the grave." he says before sending a message.

The others were in class, Pope was the only one paying attention. They all get a text message and try to silent their phones. "Did you get it?" Kie asks looking at the brown haired boy and he nods. JJ got up silently and made his way to Kiara and Pope. They look at the phones lined up to see JohnB, Sarah, and Lily in a photo. The blond headed boy gets up from the floor and runs out the class.

Kiara grabs her bags and rushes out. "Family emergency." she says before leaving. Pope raises his hand, "Can I be excused." he asks before packing his bag and leaving the class room. "We can go to the courtyard." the brown haired girl says running down the hall. JJ trips over a mop but gets back up. "Is that even possible, Shoupe said that they didn't make it?" Kie asks rushing outside confused.

"Okay but I think we're overreacting, cause we can't rule out the possibility that this could all be some kind of weird, cruel hoax." Pope says sitting on top of the brick wall. Kie texts back still confused, 'WTF is this yall??' she types, 'Is JJ there?' JohnB asks. 'I'm here Bree' the blond boy typed back. 'Did you pimp my short board?- Lily' she asks making them laugh. "It's them." JJ says smiling that his sister and best friend is okay. Pope smiles with relief, "It's definitely her."

JJ walks to Pope and hugs him, he lets go and walks to Kie giving her a tight hug then backs up. " 'We're laying super low in Nassau' How the hell did they get to the Bahamas" Kie says reading JBs text, "You can't kill a Pouge, dude." JJ says taking off his hat, "Especially Lily." Pope replies back, "She learns from the best." the blond boy says. 'Can you clear our name? We wanna come home' JohnB asks.

"P4L man. That what i'm talking about!" JJ says screaming on the top of his lungs.
