"Wow, this line is long," Ash was stunned by the number of people waiting in line for the famous Elemental SkyDrive.
"While we're waiting, I think we should plan what to do next," Gary suggested to the other three.
"There is still a lot more to do around here. We could go on the merry-go-round, the Battle Tent, watch a circus act, or look around for more attractions," Misty thought about the choices they had in mind.
"You know, I was thinking about going to eat first. I'm hungry," Ash admitted sheepishly.
"That makes two of us," May timidly smiled while she held her stomach.
"Shocker," Misty said sarcastically, then laughed with Gary.
"There's a food court not far from here that we could go to after," Gary informed them upon checking the map on his booklet.
"Then eating it is!" Ash and May pumped their fists in the air with joy.
"Hey, look. The line's gotten a lot shorter," May noticed after they had a consensus.
"About time," Ash said with relief. They were finally next to board on the ride.
"Everyone, please watch your step forward. Secure your seatbelts and enjoy the ride," the employee guided the guests, including Ash and his friends.
May and Ash ran to a cart and excitedly sat beside each other. Gary and Misty facepalmed themselves with embarrassment. They didn't want to be associated with the skittish pair, but they sat in the cart behind them.
Gary noticed the pocket of his cart and pulled out a barf bag. He raised an eyebrow, "They aren't kidding with the nausea."
"They even have an emergency button to push if there is ever any disturbance," Misty pointed to a green button right beside the pocket of the cart.
Ash and May, however, didn't pay too much attention to this and were only anticipating the beginning of the ride. The employee checked to ensure everyone was buckled and then pressed a button that pulled down bars from the seats used to hold on to.
"Have fun," the operator devilishly said as he activated the ride.
"Here goes," Ash stated as the roller coaster slowly began moving. He was feeling the adrenaline.
"This is going to be awesome," May squealed when she felt the adrenaline kick in.
Misty held on to the bars when the roller coaster started slowly riding up. The ride to the top was pretty long, and she focused her gaze on the sky above them since she feared looking down.
Gary expected a death ride when they got to the top. He could see people below watching them climb up the tracks, eager to see what would happen. The brunette admired the statues of Moltres, Zapdos, and Articuno, who majestically towered over the rails.
At the peak, everything and everyone was silent. Winds howling were the only sound as they waited for the descent. Suddenly, the Legendary Pokémon started flapping their wings and began to screech so loud that it gained the attention of every person at the carnival. Their cries nearly startled some guests out of their seats, and the roller coaster dropped like a bullet.
May held on and began laughing as her hair flapped everywhere; Ash felt tears forming in his eyes because of the speed. They could also feel their bodies pushed against the seats due to the high velocity. Misty endured the pushing winds while Gary held on tight. He thought they would fly off at any second. As the roller coaster dropped, it made a turn. The mechanical Articuno released an Ice Beam that the roller coaster barely dodged and followed with a 360 when it had to do a twirl. The roller coaster approached a dome where multiple Ice-type Pokémon were firing Ice Beam at the coaster but narrowly missed.
