Drew stared at the Lucario and its trainer. He could have sworn he'd seen them somewhere before. The newcomer turned around to look at May, Misty, Drew, Pikachu, and their other Pokémon. Even though his face remained concealed, his piercing sapphire eyes stood out under the darkness of his hood. For a moment, they thought they saw a smile.
The stranger who saved them from the Draco Meteor glared at the man responsible for Ash's death. His Lucario and Shiny Charizard took battle stances, "I'm going to end you here," he warned sternly.
"I'd like to see you try, my old foe," the yellow-eyed menace spoke sadistically. May and the others watched with angst. From what they could tell, the newcomer knew their opponent.
At that moment, the Shiny Charizard went in for the attack, but all of the stranger's Pokémon intervened, except for Hydreigon. The Shiny Charizard managed to dodge all their incoming tackles.
"We have to help him!" May declared, amazed by the man's Shiny Charizard, but the sapphire-eyed man turned around.
"No, my Charizard can handle this. You've battled valiantly until this point, but leave it to us now," the man ordered May sternly and then turned back to his foe. May and the others weren't sure if they should obey or disregard his instructions. They observed his Shiny Charizard in action.
They were stunned by the Shiny Charizard's ability to handle five formidable Pokémon simultaneously. When Garchomp tried to use Dragon Rush, Shiny Charizard took it head-on with a Dragon Claw and overpowered him, sending the Sinnoh Pokémon backward. Tyranitar used Stone Edge to bring the Flame Pokémon down, but the Shiny Charizard countered with a Focus Blast that bashed through the stone, delivering a critical hit to Tyranitar. Metagross tried to use Psychic to trap Shiny Charizard in its Psychic grip so the others could finish him, but Shiny Charizard's Flamethrower blasted Metagross away. Dragonite tried to use Outrage, but Shiny Charizard avoided the powerful Dragon attack and released a Dragonbreath that fired at Dragonite's face, sending it to the ground like a meteor. Salamence used Dragon Pulse, but the Flame Pokémon cut through it with Dragon Claw and used a Seismic Toss combination with Dragonbreath. He grabbed Salamence and started spinning, but when he stopped, he threw Salamence down like a missile. Then, Shiny Charizard unleashed a Dragonbreath that made Salamence crash downwards. The Hoenn Dragon growled in agony.
None of the kids knew how it was possible. This Shiny Charizard was making quick work of all five Pokémon; a single Pokémon was giving them all a hard time while they couldn't even leave a scratch on them. Charizard, Typhlosion, and Pikachu were the most amazed of the Pokémon. It was phenomenal power.
The mysterious blue-eyed man stood there quietly with Lucario while the yellow-eyed murderer stood there watching him. Then the sapphire-eyed stranger aimed his mark, "Lucario, go for an Aura Sphere!"
His enemy stretched his arm forward and pointed. Hydreigon used Double Team and charged toward Lucario with Dragon Pulse, but Lucario multiplied too and fired Aura Spheres.
The two energy orbs came in dozens, clashing with each other and creating dust clouds. That's when the multiple Hydreigon used Dragon Rush, but when Lucario got ordered to dodge, some managed to avoid the speedy Dragon attack. Some Lucario copies were hit and faded, but the real one avoided every attack.
"Lucario, use Dragon Pulse!" the sapphire-eyed stranger snapped as his Lucario unleashed a barrage of the Dragon-type attack.
"Counter, Hydreigon!" his foe commanded. Suddenly, a Focus Blast fired from one of the Lucario and annihilated the wave of Dragon Pulse. It successfully blasted the real Hydreigon, making it screech in pain.
Drew noticed its reaction and deduced that it must be weak against Fighting-type moves. It helped him narrow down its type. "All fun and games," the enemy was amused. Then, his Hydreigon released an earsplitting Hyper Voice that obliterated all the Lucario copies, revealing the real one.
