Robin's POV:

It was Nancy's Birthday today, and I had a whole plan to surprise her with a birthday party. I had told everyone about it the week before, and we've spent the whole time getting stuff ready for decorating. I drove Nancy to work this morning, wished her a happy birthday, gave her a special birthday kiss, and I drove back to my house to get dressed in special clothes.

I was kind of sad that I wouldn't see her again in a few hours, but it gave me time to gather everyone and head to her house to decorate. I had already bought my gift to Nancy a week before, and I think she'll really love it.

Nancy and I have been dating for 5 months, and every day with her was just the best. She always knows what to do to make the days so much better. Right now, I had to get to work. It was around noon, and Nancy doesn't get home until 3:30, but still.

I went to Nancy's house, I knocked to see if anyone else was there, and Mrs. Wheeler showed up to the door. She explained how she and Mr. Wheeler were helping get ready for Nancy's party. She invites me inside. I help out with a few things, and a few minutes later, I get a text from Steve that says everyone's here to help with the decorating. I knew I could count on him.

I went outside to see two cars in the driveway. Steve, Max, Lucas, Eddie and Dustin were in one car, and Jonathan, Mike, Will and Eleven in the other. They all get out, gather the decorations and the refreshments, and they all bring them inside the house. Everyone immediately gets to work, including me, obviously.

When we almost finish, it was almost 1 in the afternoon, but we still had time. I had picked out the perfect cake for Nancy, and I stored it in the fridge until the party started. I was getting more and more eager to see Nancy surprised by all of this. I came up with another plan. The Wheeler's garage can hold two cars, and luckily, the parents were currently getting their car fixed, so Steve's car and Jonathan's car would both fit in there.

When they did that, they came back inside and helped finish decorating. When we were done, we started to wrap up the gifts we had bought for Nancy. I kept my little gift in my pocket so I wouldn't lose track of it. Time went by, and pretty soon, it was time for me to go pick Nancy up from work. Before I left, I told Steve and Eddie to make sure everyone hid when it was time.

When I got to Nancy's workplace, I got out, leaned against the front of my car, and I saw Nancy come out. She's immediately happy to see me. She and I kiss. I open the door for her, she happily gets in. I close the door once she's in, and I get into my seat. We drive off.

Me: "How was work today?"

Nancy: "Eh, same stuff, different day."

Me: "That makes sense. Did anyone wish you a happy birthday?"

Nancy: "Actually, yeah. A few people did, and we kind of had a little party to celebrate."

Me: "Aww, that's nice of everybody."

Nancy: "Yeah, but to be honest, it wasn't really the best party. I mean, it was nice of them to remember, but I was kind of hoping for something...bigger."

Me: "Oh, I see. Well, is there anything else that you really want to do for your birthday?"

Nancy: "Umm, I don't really know, actually."

A few minutes passed by, and soon, we were back at the Wheeler's house. I see Steve peaking out the curtain and immediately closing it. Good, he's keeping track. I got out, went over and opened Nancy's door, and she got out. When I closed it, we went up to the door, she grabs her key and unlocks it. When we go in, we see that it's dark.

Nancy: "Uh, this is weird. Why is it so dark in here?"

At that moment, I turned on the light switch next to me, and everyone else jumped out of hiding.

Everyone (except Nancy): "SURPRISE!"

Nancy's face was immediately filled with shock and excitement.

Nancy: "Oh, my god, you guys!"

Eddie: "Happy birthday, Wheeler!"

Everyone, including me, gather around Nancy for one big group hug. We all make our way over to the refreshments table, and the cake is perfectly set up. Steve light the candles, and we all sing.

All (except Nancy): 🎶Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday, dear Nancy, Happy Birthday to youuuuuuu🎶

Nancy smiles and blows out her candles. We all clap.

Me: "Did you make a wish?"

Nancy: "Oh, I don't need to. I already have you."

I smile at this and we share another kiss.

Everyone else: "Awwwwwwww!"

We cut out a piece of cake for everyone in the room. It tastes amazing, and I can tell Nancy loves it, too. I slipped behind everyone to make sure I still had my gift to her, and I did, which was good.

When we're all finished with the cake, we make our way to the presents table. As Nancy unwraps each one, I was getting more eager to unveil my present to her. When she's all done with the unwrapping, we throw the wrapping paper away and set all the gifts into one place.

I was a bit nervous, but I finally got it at the perfect time.

Me: "Wait, everyone! Before we do anything else, I want to present MY gift to Nancy."

Nancy: "Ooo, can't wait to see it."

Me: "This one is extra special, so you'll have to close your eyes."

Nancy: "Ooo, okay."

Nancy smiles and closes her eyes. I take out my gift, get down on one knee, I open the box, and I prepare myself for this moment.

Me: "You can open them now."

Nancy opens her eyes, looks down and sees me on one knee, and her eyes widen.

Me: "Nancy...these past few months have been the best time of my life. Every day that I'm with you, I feel so happy, and when you're not here, I'm sad. I'm so glad to have been your girlfriend all this time, and now, I want to make things official. *deep breath* Nancy Wheeler...will you marry me?"

Nancy: *excitedly* "Yes, yes! Yes, Robin! Yes, I will marry you!"

I stand up, she places her hand out, I carefully place the ring on her finger, and the two of us share another kiss. Everyone else is cheering and clapping. When we pull away, we share a very special hug. I finally proposed to my beautiful lady. I had always dreamed about this moment, and it finally came true.
