Stranger Things Ronance One-Shots

Gin

No One's POV:

Nancy and Robin were at Robin's house, in the kitchen, playing a game of Gin; Gin Rummy, of course. Robin didn't know how to play it before, but after Nancy explained all the rules, Robin figured it out quickly. Both of her parents were gone at the time.

At one point during the game, they were both getting really close to calling "Gin." Suddenly, Nancy gets a text on her phone from her mom, saying that she didn't get the job she had interviewed for a day earlier.

Nancy takes one good look at the text, drops her phone and the cards she had in the other hand onto the table in anger. She buries her hands in her face in annoyance, and Robin was able to understand her expressions.

Robin: *with empathy* "Your mom didn't get that job, did she?"

Nancy shook her head and lifted her head up out of her hands.

Nancy: *sighs deeply* "I don't know what else to do, Robin. I know my dad ain't going to look for a job because well...you've met my dad. He ain't going to do anything that involves him getting up out of a chair or couch. I have to figure something out. If this keeps going, I might have to find a second job, and I already struggle with my reporting job, so I don't know how much more of this I can handle."

Robin looks at Nancy in understanding. She always hopes for nothing but the best for Nancy.

Robin: "Hey, um...we can wait until another time to play our game, if you want."

Nancy: "Nah, we might as well try to finish it. I'm only one card away from winning."

Robin: "Same."

Nancy picked up her cards, and the game continued. Robin drew a card, looked at it, and discarded it. Nancy saw it and immediately picked it up. It was the card she needed to win the game.

Nancy: *excitedly* "Gin!"

She was filled with excitement as she slapped her cards down on the table in victory.

Robin: "Congrats, Nance."

Robin slowly laid her cards down on the table to show Nancy what she had. Nancy looked over what was there, and when she did, she was a bit confused.

Nancy: "Wait, Robin...you needed that card to win."

Robin: "...I know."

Nancy: "Did...did you throw the game just so I could win??"

Robin: "I...might have accidentally looked at your cards when you put them down on the table earlier."

Nancy smiles and slightly chuckles.

Nancy: "You beautiful little cheater."

Nancy reaches across the table and kisses Robin. She pulls away, but Robin gently grabs on to Nancy's face to pull her back in. They both stare into each other's eyes as they're kissing. They eventually pull away, smiling sweetly.

Nancy: "I love you, Robbie."

Robin: "I love YOU, Nance."

(Y'all thought this would be about alcohol, huh? Well, I gotcha good)
