(In this chapter, both Nancy and Robin are at least 21, and don't worry, they only have about one drink each)
Nancy's POV:
Robin and I were both heading home from work, and let me just say, it was exhausting for the both of us. We didn't know why, but we both just kind of felt that way. I mean, Robin works at a video store, and I'm a journalist, so I guess I can kind of see how.
Robin had already called her mom and asked if she could stay the night at my house, and she said "yes." My mom said the same thing when I asked her if Robin could stay the night.
On our way home, we decided to stop at a bar to kind of unwind a little. But we both agreed not to go overboard with the drinking because one of us still has to drive home. When we pulled up, we got out of the car, walked in, and saw how many people there were.
We made our way to the front table, and we sat down. The bartender came over to us and asked what we would like to drink. I said a beer, and Robin said the same thing. The bartender said the classic "coming right up," took a bottle and two glasses out, poured the alcohol into both of them, and handed them to us.
We thanked him as he went to go help another person sitting at the bar.
Me: "Well, cheers to another day of work."
Robin: "And to the fact that we have the whole weekend off."
We both chuckle as we clink our glasses together, and we both take a sip of our drink. Eventually, our glasses are empty, and we decided to just leave it at that. Then, an announcement came on up front...
Announcer: "Attention, everybody! In just a few moments, we'll be starting our Friday night Karaoke session!"
Everyone in the bar cheered. Robin and I look at each other.
Me: "I think you should do it."
Robin: "Uh...I don't know. I'm not really the best singer."
Me: "Aww, come on, Rob. You ARE the best singer. I'd do anything to hear you sing."
Robin: "Would you be willing to join me in Karaoke?"
Me: "Oh, yeah! Of course I'll join you. I'd do anything and everything with you."
Robin: "Aww, Nance."
Robin and I smile at each other and share a brief kiss. We go up and see a clipboard on the side where you put your name and what song your want to sing and the time slot for when you want to sing it. Next to that is a list of all the songs that are available to sing.
We look through and we both see our favorite 80s song ever: The Outfield's Your Love. Robin and I are obsessed with that song, and we sing it everytime we hear it. We both looked at each other, and we knew that was the we would be singing.
We put our names together in an available slot on the clipboard, as well as the song. We go back to our seats, and pretty soon, there were more people signing for up for Karaoke. After between 5-10 minutes, the event started.
We were the first ones to go, so when our names were called, we headed up to the stage as everyone cheered. We both were handed our microphones, and before long, the music started, and we gave it all we had...
Robin's POV:
When the song was over, the audience cheered even louder this time. I couldn't believe we actually did it. We had pretty much made history right there (not really lol). The audience continued cheering as we headed off the stage and back to our seats.
The next person was then called up with the song they were doing. Nancy and I decided to find a booth to sit in to get a better view, and plus, these chairs were starting to get pretty uncomfortable. When we found an empty booth, we took our chance.
When we sat back down, Nancy and I shared another kiss as a celebration for our success at karaoke. For the rest of the night, we enjoyed our time hearing the other karaoke participants.
The event soon ended when the last contestant was done with their song. When Nancy and I walked out of the bar, it was pretty much really late at night. Thank God for having the whole weekend off.
Nancy and I got into her car and drove to her house, and when we got there, we got out of the car and headed into the house. Everyone else was asleep, so we tried to be as quiet as possible. When we got to Nancy's bedroom, she provided me with a change of clothes, which looked pretty comfortable. I went to the bathroom to change while Nancy was changing right where she was.
When I came back, Nancy's face lit up a little when she saw me in her clothes. I could tell she thought I looked cute in them, so I gave her a warm smile. I had my work clothes in my hands, and I didn't know where to put them, but Nancy said I could just put them in her laundry basket and she'd take care of them tomorrow.
Once the both of us were settled, we turned off the light and both climbed into the bed together. Nancy curled up against me, and I wrapped my arms around her. I love her so much, I just want to snuggle with her as much as possible.
We both stared at each other for a bit, shared another kiss, said our goodnights to each other, and before long, we both drifted off to sleep while still snuggled up against each other. Our weekend had only just begun.
