Robin's POV:
I take a deep breath, preparing myself for what I was about to do. I had only told one person about it, Steve, and right, I feel like I can trust Nancy. She and I have been friends for quite a while, so I'm hoping that she'll be understanding of it, just like Steve was. She'll finally get some answers on why Steve and I are totally not dating.
Without wasting another second, I pick up the phone, put in Nancy's number, and I waited for her to pick up. About 10 seconds later, Nancy picks up.
Nancy: "Hello?"
Me: "Hi, Nance."
When she heard my voice, she sounded really happy.
Nancy: "Robin, hi! How's it going?"
Me: "Good, pretty good. Say, can I uh...can I come see you?"
Nancy: "Oh, yeah, of course. You're welcome to come to my house anytime."
Me: *chuckles* "Thanks, Nance. I'll be over soon."
Nancy: "Alright, byeeee."
The phone conversation ends. I take another deep breath and I try to motivate myself. You can do this, Robin. You've been friends with her for a good amount of time, and you can trust her. When I feel fully motivated, I head out the door, grab my bike, and I ride it all the way over to Nancy's place.
When I get to the front door, I'm a little hesitant at first, but I quickly get over it and ring the doorbell. Nancy comes and opens the door, and is excited to see me. We both hug each other as a friendly greeting, but I've just always wanted to hug her. Nancy invites me inside and closes the door. The both of us head upstairs into her room.
I look around her room a little bit, and I sit on her bed. Nancy comes and sits beside me.
Nancy: "So, what made you wanna come over?"
Me: "I don't know. I guess I was getting bored at my place."
Nancy: "That's fair. I'm glad you came over, Robin."
Me: "I'm glad to be here. I actually have something on my mind that I need to get out first."
Nancy: "Oh, sure, what's up?"
Me: "Well...first of all, we've been friends for quite a while now."
Nancy: "Right."
Me: "Second of all, I think I can trust you enough to tell you this."
Nancy's eyebrows rise a little, becoming seemingly more interested in what I had to say.
Nancy: "Of course, you can always trust me."
Me: "That's good to hear."
Nancy nods.
Me: "Okay, see...the real reason that Steve and I are absolutely not dating is because...I am not even into him."
Nancy: "I know, you've made that pretty clear."
Me: "No, no, no, this is completely different. I'm...not into guys. I'm into women."
Nancy's eyes widen.
Nancy: "Ohhhhhh. I get it."
Me: "Yeah..."
Nancy: "Does anyone else know?"
Me: "Steve is the only other person who knows."
Nancy: "Is he supportive of you?"
Me: "Yeah, definitely."
Nancy: "That's good, and believe me, I'm totally supportive, too."
Me: "Thank you. I'm so happy to hear that."
Nancy: "In fact, I would be remiss if I didn't tell you this, but...I think I might also be into ladies."
Me: "Ooo, really? That's cool."
Nancy: *giggles* "Yeah, it's kind of nice to be into more than just guys. I get kind of tired with guys, sometimes."
Me: "Wait, what about you and Jonathan?"
Nancy: "Ah, he and I actually split a few days ago. He told me that he ended up catching feelings for Argyle."
Me: "Oh, did he now?"
Nancy: "Yeah, and get this: Argyle feels the same way about Jonathan, though he probably always forgets everytime he gets high."
Me: *chuckles* "That's fair. So, since Jonathan is basically out of the picture, what will you do now?"
Nancy: "Mmm, I think I have feelings for someone else, too."
Me: "Ooo, really? Do I know this person?"
Nancy: "You do, actually. They're a wonderful person, and for the past few days, I've been wanting to be with them, but I couldn't find a way to confess my feelings for them."
Me: "Aww, well, don't worry, I'm sure you'll be able tell them someday."
Nancy looks at me and smiles.
Nancy: "I just did."
When she said that, I immediately realized.
Me: "Ohhhhhh, I see what you did there."
Nancy giggles, and instantly, I'm in love.
Me: "I like you, too, Nance."
Nancy smiles more at what I just said, but this seemed more of a warm smile.
Nancy: "Aww, that's so sweet."
Me: *giggles* "YOU'RE so sweet."
I see Nancy's face turn red.
Nancy: *teasingly* "Robinnnnn, stop, you're making me blush."
Me: "Why? You look really cute that way."
Nancy and I stare at each other for a few seconds, and the next thing we knew, our lips met. We didn't care that it was just super sudden, though. After about 10 seconds, we pull away, still smiling at each other.
