Lauryn's POV:
I woke up to the sound of birds chirping and the sunlight coming through the tent. I sat up for a minute trying to remember what happened and then I remembered. Daryl brought me to his tent to rest from the transfusions and I told him I loved him. I don't remember him saying it back, but I pretty much passed out as soon as I closed my eyes. Did he love me too? Did he say it? Or did I just scare him off? Also, how long have I been sleeping? Daryl brought me to his tent in the afternoon, so I slept for a good 15 hours?
I step outside the tent to see Glenn talking to Maggie. " Hey Lauryn, feeling better? Want some peaches?" Glenn offered and saw the confused look on my face turn to a smile, " Yeah a lot better actually and a peach would be great thanks," I said taking a bite from the sweet peach, " Where's Daryl?"
"He went out this morning to look for Sophia, he should be back soon," Glenn said quickly before returning to his conversation with Maggie. I think Glenn has a crush on the country girl. Good for him, he needs some happiness in his life.
I made my way to the farmhouse to check on Carl. As I made my way up the stairs I was met by Rick at the front door, " Carls's okay he's gonna pull through."
"Oh thank God!" I smiled giving Rick a big bear hug. " you made a big impact on his survival. Without all the blood you donated, I don't know if he'd be here today," Rick thanked me, tears running down his face.
"And I would do it again, you know that. Where's Shane?" I asked looking around, but didn't see him anywhere on the farm.
"He's in the RV getting some supplies, he got the respirator that Carl needed, but Otis didn't make it. We had the funeral this morning but didn't want to wake you. You needed all the sleep you could get," Rick said making me laugh. " Yeah I don't know how long I was out for, but I definitely feel better today."
We started walking over to Carl and Lori who were sitting at a picnic table eating some food. "So, is there something going on between you and Daryl? I haven't seen you this happy in a while," Rick commented trying to make small talk so no one else could hear.
"Maybe. I don't know. I told him I loved him last night, but I don't remember what he said. I passed out as soon as I closed my eyes," I laughed trying to brush off the fact that I don't know if Daryl feels the same way.
" Well, I think he feels the same way. He was very worried about you yesterday. This morning before he left to look for Sophia, he asked if I could keep an eye on you. Now you don't say something like that if you didn't care about someone," Rick said trying to convince me of something we both have no idea if it's true.
"Even if he does like me, Shane hates him for some reason. Thinks Daryl is just some dumb redneck," I said putting my hands in my pockets frustrated at the fact that Shane can't just be happy for me.
" He's just being protective of you. You are like his sister even though you aren't blood. He always felt like he needed to take care of you. But I do think Shane has been a bit of a hothead recently. Don't let him get to you. If you love Daryl and Daryl loves you, then that's all that matters."
"Yeah, you're right. Thanks, Rick. I just need to talk to Daryl when he gets back," I said splitting off from our walk so Rick could talk with Carl and Lori.
Glenn was following Maggie around like a little puppy. Oh, he is definitely in love with her. " Glenn! Do you have any more of those peaches?" I called out to him. He looks in his bag and grabs one tossing it to me. I nodded to him in thanks. I walk over to the tent to grab my gun taking out the magazine to see how much ammo I had left. I took one bite of the peach and I heard Andrea scream "Walker!"
