Daryl's POV:

I barely slept the night. I sat next to Lauryn the whole night waiting for her to wake up. Every second I imagined her opening her beautiful blue eyes, smiling at me telling me everything is okay, but it never came. She was still unconscious and hasn't moved a muscle. The sun started to peer through the windows shining on her pale skin. I was excited because it meant that Glenn would be going on a run soon to find medical supplies.

I got up from my seat looking for Glenn. I walked over to the cell that him and Maggie shared. I stood outside the curtain and knocked on the wall, "Glenn?" I whispered. I heard some rustling and Glenn poked his head out from the curtain, " What is it, Daryl? Is Lauryn awake?"

"No. Not yet. You going on that run?" I asked impatiently waiting for Glenn to get going. He rubbed his eyes nodding, " Yeah, yeah, I am. I'll get dressed and go right now."

"Thanks, I'm just scared for her right now," I said before walking back over to my seat to watch for my angel to wake.

Glenn made his way out to Lauryn's truck which he was taking to look for supplies. I know she will be happy to have her truck back. Rick drove it from Woodbury when we escaped, but we left it with the group when Merle, Lauryn, and I went for our short-lived adventure on our own.

Glenn has been gone for about an hour and I'm hoping he found what Hershel needs and is on his way back asap because I can't take this any longer.  I haven't moved from my seat as I watched over her. Hershel came and sat down next to me. He did a couple of things to her before talking to me, "Her pulse is still strong surprisingly. It's not good that she has been unconscious for this long. It worries me that something has gone wrong that we can't see. I have no way of telling the status of the baby since Lauryn can't tell us of any symptoms. In the case that Glenn can bring back the supplies I need, I need to find someone who has O-negative blood. Lauryn's case is tricky since she is O-negative. Her blood is the universal donor, she can give blood to anyone, but she can only receive her same blood type. If I give her blood that isn't O-negative, it can kill her. Also, only about 7% of the population has O-negative blood which means she is a rare type. To find another person with O-negative is a very low probability."

"You're telling me, even if Glenn gets the equipment she might die from getting the wrong blood! It's that or she may never wake up!" I yelled furious at the fact that Lauryn had a slim chance of making it out of this. I almost broke down crying again, but I held it together for her.

My yelling got everyone's attention and they all came to Lauryn's side. " Anyone O-negative?" I asked looking around at everyone. They all solemnly shook their heads. Fuck.

I heard Lauryn's truck pull up to the gate and Carl went outside to let Glenn in. Glenn bursted through the door," I got the supplies! You would not believe what I had to do to get it I-"

"Story later. Hershel is this everything you need?" I asked taking the supplies from Glenn and ran it over to Hershel. He inspected everything and nodded his head, " Yes this is what I need, but I don't want to perform this on her if I don't have an O-negative donor."

"Glenn, you were the only one not here for the question. Are you O-negative blood type?" Hershel asked and Glenn frowned looking down at his feet and shaking his head.

"Hold up," Merle said from his prison cell on the second level that Rick kept locked just in case, " You said O-negative? There's a chance we can save her, but you gotta let me out of here if you want me to explain," Merle bargained and I looked at Rick with pleading eyes. Rick sighed and went up to the second level to let Merle out.

Merle walked down he steps and stood next to me putting his arm around me, " Now I did plenty of reading while in Woodbury to pass the time. I know our mom and pop were both A blood types from their birth certificates. From my knowledge, I think if both parents are A blood type, they can have a kid with O blood type. So there is a chance one of us has O blood."
