At Vero's school...
Two months had passed since the event Vero had experienced with the Harlem Knights and he took up the vigilante mantle. To his shock, he still managed to balance his normal life with his other one. Barely. The only problem was less time he had sleeping at night. That was still a big problem on his part. Well, that and finally figuring out how to activate his "devil eyes". Vero didn't know why but even now he still didn't know how to activate them. It was like they activated on their own or he somehow did so subconsciously at times he didn't expect.
Of course he still lived his normal life of a highschool, rebellious punk to avoid anyone smart like AJ or his father suspecting or connecting him to his "other life", it was a risk he couldn't take. These two had the higher probability of finding out. After all, If one person knew something then eventually all will know soon.
Vero decided that it was time to explain what he has been doing the past days to his best friends. At least he would be getting rid of the guilt of keeping the secret from the people he trusted the most and had been best friends since kinder garden. Right now, they were sitting under the stands of the school football field.
"So you're the 'Dark Vigilante's 'suit crafter!?" A shocked Aaron asked Vero who nodded.
"He saved you and you thought that best way to repay him was to make him a suit." Kai added receiving a nod from Vero. But the girl had doubts about that part. "I don't know, Vero. Sounds like you're making some of this up, especially when you're involved. Usually the guys who mess with you are the ones who need help, not the other around. I would believe your stroy if you said the two of happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time and did a tag team beat up the thugs."
Vero cleared his throat at his mistake. "Oh, did I say "save"? I meant to say he just showed up out of nowhere and interrupted my fight." He corrected while keeping g his eyes averted from her, half-nervously rubbing the back of his head, hoping for kai to accept it.
The girl on her part kept her eyes on him, as if trying to decipher what Vero was really hiding which just seemed to him even more uncomfortable. After a short moment, she finally stopped. "Alright, I suppose I'll believe your story for now."
Vero mentally breathed out a sigh of relief.
"So ever since that time, you two have been friends?" Alexa asked receiving a nod of confirmation.
"Well, i wouldn't say we're close friends. Ever since the two of us met we just happen to cross each other on occasion and whenever his suit is damaged, I fix it for him." Vero added himself.
Aaron quirked an eyebrow. "Wait a minute, are you saying you knit?"
"Yeah, I knit. Grandpa taught me when I was still little." Responded the demi-Majin. "Why?"
"Oh, no reason." AJ placated, holding up both his hands, palms open, to show that he meant no offense. "I'm just surprised, that's all. But knowing your grandpa, I guess I should've expected he would you teach you how to knit."
"Well that would explain the strange behavior and disappearing acts." Aaron mused. He suddenly leaned in closer to Vero. "So, have any idea who the guy is? You must know since you made his suit, right?"
"No I don't. And even if I did, I wouldn't tell anyone. The whole stupid "Secret identity" stuff from your comic books, remember?" Vero pointed out with his hands folded.
"Right. Know the hero, expect the consequences." Aaron remembered before half-Heartily musing. "I knew you'd come around and like comic books."
"Well..." Said Vero while looking away to mask his embarrassment then changed the subject.
