Later in the afternoon…Chinatown Dunkin Doughnut store.

Vero walked out of the store holding a plastic in his left hand which contained two boxes of doughnuts, twelve in each of them, all different flavors. In his right hand, he was holding a Black Forest doughnut which he was already eating.

“It’s a good thing I always choose to keep those doughnut coupons. They always come in handy when I wanna buy more than twelve doughnuts so it’s worth collecting them.” Vero thought while walking around the district. “I get to eat as many doughnuts as I want. But maybe I should’ve bought myself coffee as well.”

While he was lost in his train of thought, he accidently bumped into a swagman and got some of the cream on him as well. “Oh, sorry, sir.”

“Hey, hey, hey, hey!” The swagman complained then started yelling at him after drinking a bottle of a half empty bottle. “Can’t you see where you’re walking?! I mean, what are you?! A retard or just blind?! People like me got better things to do! Wanna have me teach you a lesson myself!?”

“You wanna have my doughnut as an apology? I don’t mind, I got more.” Vero offered nicely.

“I don’t want your pity! And your doughnut is practically half eaten already!” The swagman knocked the doughnut to the ground much to Vero’s displeasure. “Why would you give me a doughnut anyway, you snowflake dumbass?! You trying to give me cavity?! And what are you gonna do about my clothes, huh?! Huh?!” Vero grabbed the swagman’s pants and swiftly kicked him off his feet. With his grip still on his pants, Vero held the swagman in the air above the ground who now looked stunned by what had just happened and the young man's superhuman-like strength. “Huh..? What the…?”

“Since I’m in a good mood and eating my favorite doughnuts, I’m gonna gently put you on the ground and leave you alone while pretending like you didn’t just knock one of them to the ground. You got it?” Said Vero in a stoic demeanor before gently placing the man on the ground. Vero reached into the bag and randomly pulled out another doughnut then placed it on the swag man's stomach. "There, for composition."

Realizing that he was late, he decided to be on his way and make his way to the grocery store to buy the things his grandpa asked for which weren’t a lot. He walked for what felt to be the longest walk after getting them; he was nearing his home that was just a couple of blocks away.

"Another day, another boring life as usual." He murmured, holding the grocery and doughnut bag over in his left hand.

"AAAAHHHH!"

A high-pitched scream echoed out from a nearby alleyway up ahead, making all thoughts in Vero's mind go away as he walked forward, his legs moving on their own.

He kept walking down the alleyway before the scene in front of him would have made anyone else want to run the other way. A group of men wearing what resembled winter clothes surrounded a girl around his age. Though he had a hard time seeing her face, the only thing he could point out was her long, blonde hair that looked unkempt.

"Hey now. Quit screaming, girl." One of the thugs smirked as he leaned closer to her, trapping her between his large arms. "You're getting' us excited the more you do."

"Leave me alone!" The girl struggled to escape, but the other three goons soon enclosed themselves around her.

"Aww, look at her squirming!" One of the thugs laughed

"Hahaha! Look at those teeth! I like 'em when they bite!"

"S-Someone? H-Help!" Vero heard her let out another cry. At this point, the boy had only to options; walk away and turn a blind eye or be a helpful citizen and bonk these idiots. However, of course, he was going to get into trouble.
