Blazing Regalia

Chapter VI: Discovery

    
     After a few hours of walking, Xon reaches the forefront of Khameia, the city was massive and much more modern than any other national landmark. It featured large tall concrete buildings separated by wide roads of gravel. Before him lies a massive thick steel gate, at least 30ft tall. He reaches out to lay his hand upon it but is rejected by it, a shock runs through his hand, causing him to withdraw. He looks around, looking for some way to enter.

Xon walks sideways briefly before noticing a gap between the gates, he releases his aura and grabs the gate, being shocked in the process. He slowly pries the massive gate open just enough to slip through, which he does shortly before the gap slams itself shut.

With being on the inside, Xon admires the architecture around him before being spotted by a few guards, they start walking towards him, but he wastes little time and immediately dashes into an alleyway between buildings, with the guards following suit. He runs until he finds himself in an open area between numerous buildings, isolated from the public eye. Xon looks around to find himself surrounded by guards, he releases his aura, but it quickly dissipates, he already half-expected them to be able to suppress his abilities. The guards charge at Xon and he barely dodges each of their strikes, he swings at one briefly before halting.

Xon: "I surrender."

The guards look little surprised, they chain Xon's hands together and place a device around his neck, before leading him out of the alley and begin walking elsewhere until they arrive at a small building. After entering, the guards report in to their superior.

Guard: "We've captured an intruder, Sir."

???: "Good, where are they?"

The guards shuffle around, bringing Xon into his view.

Xon: "Hi."

???: "Its just a kid, what are you doing here?"

Xon: "I'm here to learn about a curse, and wisps."

???: "How did you get inside?"

Xon: "There was a small gap between the gates outside, I held it open then slipped through."

???: "...Wait, you held it open?"

Xon: "Yeah, although it did hurt."

???: "Interesting, your no normal kid that's for sure."

The man looks Xon up and down thoroughly before speaking again.

???: "You look like you've seen bad things and been through worse, kid."

???: "Follow me."

Xon and the man exit the building and start roaming the streets of Khameia.

???: "Oh, let me free you up."

The man removes Xons chains and the device around his neck. Xon releases his aura briefly before it recedes.

???: "That gap in the fence was my fault, so I'll take care of ya personally while you're here."

???: "The names Marc, current "commander" of the guards in this district. It's rare for someone your age to have their resonance, but I doubt you came here for any malicious reason."

Xon: "Is it? Are resonances rare?"

Marc: "They aren't rare, but they develop later in life, maybe around your early 20's."

Marc: "Tell me, are you cursed?"

Xon: "..."

Marc: "Lighten up kid. You.. look like you could use a refresher, let's take a quick detour. Then we'll look for your guy."

Xon: "I don't plan on staying long, and thank you for not imprisoning me."

Marc: "As if I'd imprison such a desperate kid."

They visit a building that hosts an abundance of clothing and outfits. When they leave, both of them have chosen new outfits to wear. Xon wears a long sleeved grey shirt, partially revealing the bandages wrapped around his hands and forearms, around his neck is a light blue scarf. He wears regular black pants and his ankle-high black boots. Marc boasts a traditional white dress shirt with a black tuxedo vest and black pants. His hair is black and slicked back, complemented by his sharp grey eyes and fit build.

Marc: "I'll arrange an appointment for you, beware, the man you'll meet will be like no one you've ever met before."

Xon: "Wouldn't be the first time.."

Xon clutches the scarf around his neck slightly, before they start walking forwards towards their destination.
