Everyone Adores You (at least I do) - Matt Maltese

Luffy was staying up in the middle of the night, all alone as he sat on the Thousand Sunny's head. He felt upset since the night arrived, but he wasn't sure why he felt that way. He was watching the waves passing by the boat as the boat went with the waves. Even though he was surrounded with his crew, basically his best friends in the entire world, he still felt a hint of loneliness in him. Yet he still ignored that he felt it.

"Luf? What're you doing, up late?" Luffy glanced behind him, he saw Zoro look up to see him since he was still on the upper deck floor. Luffy's loneliness was suddenly gone when Zoro arrived as if his heart was lifted. "I couldn't sleep." Luffy replied, "C'mere!" he suggested, tapping on the Sunny's head, implying that Zoro should sit beside him. Zoro then chuckled and jumped on the Sunny's head and sat beside Luffy. "Zoro, what do you do when you're guarding the boat?"

"Oh, I just watch if there's a boat coming or someone coming in the lookout tower every night." Luffy tilted his head in confusion, he thought that it was kind of boring because every night he was alone. Unless...he was with someone in the crew. "Who are you with every night?" Luffy asked, he thought that he didn't wanna know who he was with every night because he probably would be sad because of it, but he thought 'whatever'. "Who I'm with—huh?" Zoro paused. "What do you mean?" Zoro asked.

"I mean—who do you hang with every night basically." Luffy repeated, but Zoro wasn't confused because he didn't get it, he was confused because Luffy thought he was with someone very night. "Wha—Nobody? You thought I was with someone? Like—who?" Zoro was honestly dumbfounded, who would he even hang out with other than Luffy in the night? "Oh. Oops! I thought you were with like, Sanji, or something." that was the last straw Zoro had honestly. He wasn't mad, he was just weirded out, especially because Luffy thought he was hanging with Sanji. "Ew—Sanji? Fucking hate his guts."

"Well, respect. But I hate him." Zoro gagged and it made Luffy laugh, "Heyy! Don't talk about Sanji that way!" Luffy scolded. "My bad, but I just hate him." Zoro said, Luffy was belly laughing at that point, but he knew Zoro was joking around, he didn't really hate Sanji, they just couldn't stand each other, he guessed. Luffy looked up at the stars and at the moon, adoring it. He was wondering on how there were so many stars in the sky. 'How is that even possible?' he thought.

While Zoro, he was adoring Luffy instead of the stars and the moon. Zoro thought that Luffy was more beautiful and entertaining than watching the stars and the moon combined, I mean, I would too, honestly. "The moon is beautiful, isn't it?" Luffy said, looking up at the moon still, he thought it was brighter than the stars which he thought was incredible. Zoro didn't get what Luffy meant from that phrase so he just nodded. Unless Luffy didn't mean it that way in the first place.

"You're so pretty." Zoro mumbled, then after he muttered that, he wished that Luffy didn't hear it at all. "...Huh?" Luffy turned his head to Zoro as he cluelessly said it, then Zoro shook his head, "Nothing." Zoro said. Then, Luffy looked away, he looked back at the moon and stars. In reality, Luffy knew what he said, he just proceeded to act clueless because he didn't wanna embarrass Zoro that much. Then, suddenly Luffy remembered something someone said to him.

He actually forgot who said that phrase to him since it was long ago, but he just remembered it now. "I heard someone say that stars are the loved ones you lost. Well, you didn't really lose them now, did you? Since it's as if they've been with you the whole time." Luffy says, deep actually in thought. He wasn't half-assing his words right now. Zoro looked at him the whole time, even though Luffy wasn't looking at him. "Really?" Zoro said, actually amazed.

Luffy nodded and grinned, "I'm smart, aren't I?" Luffy was feeling genuinely happy because it seemed that he impressed Zoro in a way. "Yeah it was smart, but you aren't." Zoro pinched his cheek and Luffy giggled. A wind blew past them and it made Luffy shiver since he was only wearing a thin layer of shorts and a vest. Zoro immediately noticed and removed the coat he had on, since they were previously on a winter island, he kept it in handy in case Luffy needed it, or him. Zoro didn't think twice about giving it to him, he loved Luffy that much.

He genuinely fell in love with Luffy, he was head over heels, and I don't think that feeling will ever disappear. Whether he fell in love from the second they met or whether it was just right now, it didn't matter. He was always in love with him. Because they were always destined together. Fate pulled strings so they could meet.

"Let's sit down there instead. It's kind of chilly up here." Zoro said, and Luffy nodded in agreement. Zoro offered his hand to Luffy and Luffy grabbed it, Zoro then went down the Sunny's head and made sure Luffy didn't fall when he went down. He knew that Luffy wouldn't, but he just wanted to at that moment. When they were both down, Zoro sat down first and then Luffy climbed on his lap, cozying on it. Between them, nothing was awkward for them.

Well, not in actions, but most of the time in words. But, if it takes them to kiss even without proclaiming their feelings for each other, they would—well they already do anyways. Zoro ruffled with Luffy's hair and Luffy kept on playing with Zoro's hands. Such as making him do the middle finger and giggling after when he finished. After a while of silence, Luffy changed his position so he would face Zoro.

Luffy's body was now facing Zoro's while he was on his lap. They were both getting lost on each other's eyes. Then, Zoro leaned in on Luffy and gave him a soft kiss on the lips. Luffy froze for a second because he didn't know what to do, so he broke the kiss off. "...That was really sudden!" Luffy yelled as he giggled.

Zoro chuckled and then kissed Luffy on the cheek, then his other cheek, then his forehead, then his nose, then made his way to his neck. Luffy shivered, but not from the cold, it was from his kisses. Zoro stopped kissing him and looked at Luffy who had such a bright red face on him, "You should sleep now." he suggested. Luffy was actually feeling sleepy and drowsy once Zoro kissed him, he most of the time got surprised by how much Zoro knew about him, but he didn't mind. He actually loved it.

Luffy put his head on Zoro's chest and yawned, "Goodnight, Zoro..." he mumbled, then he immediately drifted to sleep. Zoro quietly chuckled at Luffy and kissed him on the forehead, "Goodnight." then he closed his eyes as he started to fall asleep in Luffy's warmth as well.

Little did they know a shooting star came and passed by them. They didn't make it time, but I'm sure they would fulfill it anyway. Both of their wishes were to stay with each other forever. That wasn't their only wishes, but that was the first wish they thought of.
