"Alright, so as you all know, today is the class switch," the homeroom teacher began, his voice echoing through the roomIt has been two weeks since Kaveh had last received a letter from Alhaitham, two weeks since he had sent him one to
The blonde had given up on trying to persuade the chairman to let him join the club, there was no point after he had been rejected so many times
"Alright, let's get started. I will now call out the names of the students who will swap with the students in class 2A," the professor continued, his tone brisk and businesslike.
Today marked a unique event exclusive to second years-a class swap. It was an opportunity for students to exchange classrooms with their peers in another class, engaging in activities designed to provide insights into potential career paths.
Kaveh had already set his sights on pursuing a career in the art field, his passion for drawing driving his ambition. However, he still grappled with uncertainty regarding the specific job or role he envisioned himself in
As the teacher began calling out names, Kaveh and Cyno were among the selected students, along with a few others. They were instructed to swap with students from the other class for the day's activities.
"Alright, when the first period starts, you may head over to the other class. If I didn't call your name, then you are staying here," the teacher concluded before returning to his task of marking papers
"Looks like we're both going to the other class," Cyno remarked.
"Who's even in 1A?" Kaveh inquired.
"I'm sure Tighnari is," Cyno replied.
"What are the chances he stays in that class?" Kaveh pondered aloud.
"Very low, due to your bad luck," Cyno teased.
"I do not have bad luck," Kaveh protested.
"Whatever you say," Cyno retorted with a grin
As the bell rang, signalling the start of the class switch, students filed into their designated classrooms.
As Kaveh and Cyno entered, Kaveh's eyes locked onto Tighnari. Before he could say anything, he noticed a familiar figure seated beside him. It was Alhaitham.
"What the fuck are you doing here?" Kaveh crossed his arms, a mix of surprise and irritation in his tone.
"This is my class," Alhaitham responded bluntly, meeting Kaveh's gaze evenly.
"Maybe you're right, maybe I do have bad luck," Kaveh sighed, taking his seat in front of Tighnari.
"What can I say? As they say, 'Why was the math book sad? Because it had too many problems! Just like Kaveh'" Cyno chimed in
"Why do you have to start the session with your terrible jokes?" Tighnari groaned, shaking his head at Cyno's antics.
"Oh, you'll be hearing more of those today," Cyno winked mischievously, earning a sigh from Tighnari
"Alright, class, settle down! I'll take attendance to see who is here. Respond loud and clear!" the professor announced, bringing the focus back to the task at hand.
The first activity was an icebreaker, dreaded by all but inevitably part of the routine.
"I'm Alhaitham, and I was born in the winter," Alhaitham announced.
'He stole my line. Now what can I say?' Kaveh thought to himself. "Hi, I'm Cyno, and I make the best jokes!"
"No, you don't," Tighnari muttered under his breath.
