"Why are you just lying there reading?" Kaveh exhaled, standing in front of Alhaitham with his arms crossed in frustration.

Alhaitham barely glanced up from his book, eyes briefly scanning Kaveh's expression before returning to his page. "What do you mean?"

"I told you to start packing up the furniture in your room," Kaveh said, the impatience clear in his voice.

Alhaitham's brows furrowed slightly, still focused on his book. "I'll do it later. Let me finish this chapter."

"You said that a week ago!" Kaveh's hands were now on his hips, clearly exasperated.

Alhaitham finally looked up, eyes locking onto Kaveh's. Without warning, he reached out and pulled Kaveh down onto the couch beside him.

"No, I need to pack my things!" Kaveh protested though the fight in his voice was already waning as he fell into the cushions.

"You can do it later," Alhaitham said, more a command than a suggestion. "Just sit with me for a while."

Kaveh sighed, but his annoyance melted away as he surrendered to the inevitable. He shifted until he was lying with his head resting comfortably on Alhaitham's lap.

"Fine, but don't blame me when you're scrambling to pack everything last minute," Kaveh grumbled, closing his eyes.

"Graduation's in a few days," Alhaitham murmured, absentmindedly running his fingers through the blonde hair

"I know, and I'm really not ready," Kaveh sighed, staring up at the ceiling. "I'm going to miss this."

Alhaitham chuckled softly, "You always get sentimental about the simplest things."

Kaveh's eyes narrowed. "I'm being honest, though! Things are going to change. No more lazy afternoons like this, no more hiding in your class until the bell rings. We won't get to see each other as much anymore."

Alhaitham's gaze softened as he listened to Kaveh's concerns. "Kaveh, we both chose our own paths for the future, but that doesn't mean we won't be in each other's lives. Just because things change doesn't mean we will."

Kaveh shifted slightly, propping himself up on his elbows as he looked at Alhaitham with a touch of worry in his eyes. "But it won't be the same. It's not like we'll be able to just meet up whenever we want."

Alhaitham leaned down and placed a soft kiss on Kaveh's forehead. "Then I'll come visit you every day if I have to. Even if it's just to annoy you," he added with a teasing smile.

"Oh, your parents would absolutely love that," Kaveh replied sarcastically, rolling his eyes. But then his expression turned serious, a flicker of concern flashing in his eyes. "Your parents... how are we going to tell them about us?"

Alhaitham's expression tensed slightly, his eyes shifting away as he sighed. "I really don't want to tell them right now. They have enough expectations as it is."

"We can't keep it a secret forever," Kaveh argued gently. "It's not fair on you."

"I know, but for now, can we just... keep it to ourselves?" Alhaitham's voice was quieter, almost pleading. "I'll be at university most of the time anyway, so they won't have much of a chance to interfere."

Kaveh studied Alhaitham for a moment, seeing the hint of unease. He reached up and cupped Alhaitham's face with a small smile. "Fine, we'll keep it quiet for now. But you better not chicken out when the time comes."

Alhaitham's lips quirked into a smirk. "I won't. Just give me some time to figure it out."

Kaveh nodded, lying back down on Alhaitham's lap. "We're really going to do this, huh? Graduation, universities, our separate lives... it's all happening so fast."

"Yeah," Alhaitham said, his fingers resuming their gentle path through Kaveh's hair. "But whatever happens, we'll figure it out. Together."

Kaveh sat up, his legs draped over Alhaitham's, arms resting around his shoulders. "You're so annoyingly confident, you know that?" he muttered.

Alhaitham chuckled, wrapping his arms securely around Kaveh's waist, drawing him in closer. "I have to be," he said, his voice laced with amusement. "One of us has to keep a clear head when you start spiralling into melodrama."

Kaveh leaned in, their faces now inches apart. "Shut up. I'm being realistic, not dramatic."

"Whatever helps you sleep at night," Alhaitham teased, his lips quirking into a smirk.

Kaveh rolled his eyes but couldn't hide the affectionate smile tugging at his lips. "Just promise me one thing?"

"Anything."

"Promise me that even if we're far apart, we won't let things change between us."

Alhaitham's expression softened, his teasing demeanour melting into something sincere. He leaned closer, their foreheads nearly touching, as his voice dropped to a tender whisper. "I promise, Kaveh. Nothing will change how I feel about you, no matter how far apart we are."

Before Kaveh could respond, Alhaitham closed the distance between them, capturing Kaveh's lips in a slow kiss. The world seemed to blur at that moment, everything else fading into the background.

Alhaitham's hands gently but firmly guided Kaveh back onto the couch, their kiss deepening as he lowered the blonde beneath him. Kaveh's fingers threaded through Alhaitham's hair as he responded with equal fervour

As Alhaitham hovered above him, his hand slid to cradle Kaveh's cheek, grounding them both in the moment. The kiss broke, leaving them breathless, eyes locked in an unspoken promise.

"See?" Alhaitham murmured, brushing a stray lock of hair from Kaveh's face. "Nothing will change. We'll always find our way back to each other."

Kaveh smiled softly, his heart swelling with both reassurance and affection. "You better be right about that."

"I always am," Alhaitham replied with a smirk, leaning in to steal another quick kiss, unable to resist.
