Kaveh lay sprawled on the floor, absentmindedly flipping through a magazine when he heard a knock at the door. Springing to his feet, he called out, "I think they're here, Alhaitham!" before rushing to unlock the door.As soon as the door creaked open, Cyno greeted him with a nod. "Hey."
Tighnari stood beside him, holding up several boxes with a grin. "We brought the games."
"And I brought snacks," Alhaitham said, appearing behind Kaveh
"Great! Come on in before you freeze out there." Kaveh stepped aside as the duo shuffled into the warmth of the dorm.
As they made their way inside, Cyno looked around, eyebrows raised in surprise. "The place looks different. Did you redecorate?"
Kaveh groaned dramatically. "I had to. Alhaitham's taste in furniture was atrocious."
"It wasn't that bad," Alhaitham argued back, crossing his arms.
"Of course you'd say that," Kaveh huffed, rolling his eyes. "You have the style sense of a textbook."
Tighnari chuckled as he set the game boxes down on the table. "You two bicker like an old married couple. It's almost nostalgic."
Cyno smirked. "Can we skip the décor debate and get to the real reason we're here?"
"Games, right?" Kaveh asked, plopping down on one side of the table.
"Uno first," Cyno declared, already pulling out the cards and shuffling them with practised ease. "Let's see who's going to suffer tonight."
"You're going down," Tighnari teased, sitting across from Kaveh and watching Cyno shuffle the deck.
"Big words for someone who always forgets to say 'Uno' when they're down to one card," Cyno shot back with a glare.
"Not this time," Tighnari promised, narrowing his eyes with determination.
Alhaitham, having finished setting out the snacks, joined them at the table. "Make sure to shuffle properly, Cyno. Don't need you to be cheating again"
"Excuse you," Cyno retorted with mock offence. "I play fair and square. I just happen to be a master strategist."
Kaveh rolled his eyes, grabbing a handful of chips as he leaned back. "Yeah, yeah. Just start the game already. Let's see if that 'strategizing' can actually save you from getting hit with a Draw 4."
The first round began with Cards flying around, and accusations of unfair play were thrown around
Midway through the game, Cyno smirked wickedly and slapped down a Wild Draw 4 card, targeting Kaveh. "This is where it all ends for you."
Kaveh groaned dramatically, throwing his head back. "it always has to be me"
"You knew this was coming," Cyno replied smugly, leaning back
Tighnari chuckled while Alhaitham quietly slid a Draw 4 onto the pile in front of Cyno. "I think you're underestimating us," Alhaitham said, a rare, mischievous grin tugging at his lips.
The game continued in full swing, with each round getting more intense as they sabotaged one another. Time seemed to fly by as they lost themselves in the competition.
After a few rounds, Kaveh threw his hands up in victory, finally managing to win a game. "Finally! You all had it out for me, but I still came out on top!"
"Beginner's luck," Cyno grumbled
"Let's see if you can keep that streak going," Tighnari challenged, already reshuffling the deck.
Alhaitham simply watched the scene unfold, content. "Don't get too comfortable, Kaveh. The night's still young."
Kaveh grinned, leaning forward. "Bring it on."
After a few more games and plenty of laughter, the group gathered around the kitchen counter, ready to dive into the freshly delivered pizza. The scent of melted cheese and spices filled the air as they each grabbed a slice.
"Time flew by fast," Kaveh said with a content sigh, biting into his slice.
"We still have more games we need to get through," Tighnari reminded them, already eyeing the pile of board games they hadn't touched yet.
Kaveh, with a mischievous glint in his eye, suddenly suggested, "How about we play truth or dare?"
Cyno shot him a sceptical look. "Truth or dare? Who still plays that?"
"Well, I have one truth I really want to ask you two," Kaveh said, his eyes flicking between Cyno and Tighnari
Tighnari raised an eyebrow. "And what exactly do you want to know?"
"Are you two dating?" Kaveh asked bluntly, not even attempting to mask the curiosity in his voice.
Cyno and Tighnari exchanged a quick glance, looking like deer caught in headlights. They remained speechless for a moment, unsure of how to respond.
"Well?" Kaveh pressed, leaning forward. "Are you?"
Tighnari quickly shook his head. "No, we're not."
Kaveh narrowed his eyes, clearly unconvinced. "Honestly?"
Cyno sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. "We should just tell them," he muttered to Tighnari before turning back to face Kaveh and Alhaitham. "Yes, we're dating."
"Oh my god, I knew it!" Kaveh exclaimed, his face lighting up as he turned to Alhaitham. "So we weren't just imagining things earlier."
"Apparently not," Alhaitham replied, a small, amused smile tugging at his lips.
Tighnari gave them an apologetic look. "I hope it's not awkward for you two."
"Why would it be?" Alhaitham said calmly. "If you two like each other and are happy, then it's entirely your choice. No need for anyone else's approval."
"Exactly," Kaveh added enthusiastically. "I think it's great to see you guys together."
Cyno, clearly wanting to shift the conversation, huffed. "Alright, enough about that. Can we move on and put on a movie or something?"
"Yeah, it's starting to get awkward," Tighnari agreed, visibly relieved as the attention moved away from their relationship.
With a mutual nod, they decided on a movie and quickly settled into the living room, stacking pillows and grabbing blankets. As the film began, they all relaxed, getting lost in the film
