The next few races were average with no podiums but we were due to be putting upgrades on to the car at Silverstone which was coming up in the next week. I know I should of been more focused on the racing but having Belle with me was a good distraction. It was fun to show her all the places I'd travelled to previously. She was in a much better place which was even better. I'd asked her to officially marry me in Australia and she graciously accepted. We'd not set a date and had decided that over the summer break, that's when the real planning would start. We wanted to make sure Belle was fully recovered and for her to explore her new adventure of Mountain Biking. She'd not heard from her family since I spoke to her father and to be honest I wasn't going to complain, myself and Isaac had noticed a real change in her. Isaac said this is the happiest he'd ever seen her and I can't help but wonder if that was partly because of me or because she no longer had the pressure of her family on her back.
We we're back in Monaco for two days before heading to the UK for Silverstone, my home race. I was excited and hoped we could be competitive to Red Bull. I come in from grabbing lunch to see Belle sat on the balcony of our home. The weather in Monaco was beautiful. She sat in a red flowery dress, looking out at the sea view with a glass of white wine.
"Hey you. Dinner is ready" I smile to her standing at the balcony doors.
"Coming" She gets up smiling to me, as we both head in to the kitchen. We'd opted for a healthy takeout with me needing to watch my weight during the season.
"This is yours" I hand Belle her Feta Cheese Salad.
"Thanks. Shall we eat on the Balcony?"
"Sure" I grab my chicken salad wrap and follow her to balcony, sitting at the side of her on our new Rattan Furniture she had ordered. She was starting to make my old bachelor pad, in to a lovely home. Who knew you needed a woman's touch for it to feel warm.
We took in to the food watching the people walk the marina below. The sun shining brightly on us. I move my baseball cap to the back of my head, I hated wearing caps the correct way. The sun burnt at my exposed chest as I take my shirt off.
"I've been thinking" Belle turns to me "I know we are planning the wedding over the summer break but I just wondered what did you want from a wedding? I always think the men never really get a say so"
I sat thinking before I answer " To be honest, I never really thought about it. I'd just want my future wife to be happy and obviously my family and friends to be there. What about you?"
"I've never been one for massive display of affection. I'd never thought I'd get married. I kind of mocked it considering I didn't have great role models in terms of my mum and dad. I have been thinking though. I'd like something small and intimate, nothing wild, like our first wedding. Somewhere where we can hear the birds chirping and the smell of flowers, I don't know, what do you think?"
"I get it and I agree. Something small and intimate with just those close to us."
"I was also thinking" She turns to me again.
"Wow, you've been thinking quite a lot" I joke to her.
" I've been thinking how hot you look without that shirt on and how I'm restraining myself from dragging you to the bedroom" She smirks to me. I feel my cheeks go red, I bite my bottom lip.
"Is that so?" I look to her with a raised eyebrow. Without a second thought, I jump up throwing Belle over my shoulder and running to our bedroom with her.
