6 months later......

It was the night before the wedding. Things between me and Lando had been great. We decided when we finally pulled away from our kiss at Hardline in December that we would try again. It didn't take long for us to set a date for the wedding, which was taking place during the summer break. It was the only time we both had free for a little while. Lando had the 2025 season and I was taking part in mountain biking competitions throughout the second part of the year. I had brands dying to sponsor me and work with me, who knew mountain biking was the thing for me. My relationship with my family had come on leaps and bounds, unfortunately my mother was still soul searching so wouldn't be attending the nuptials. Personally I think it's because she's still not ready to be in a room with my father and Liss. Me and Lando had sold both the apartments in Monaco and bought a new place deciding it was good to have a fresh start, it happened to be the same apartment building as Max Verstappen who was a guest nearly every week for tea, when we were there.
The wedding was to be a quiet affair, with only a 100 closest people invited. We'd found a big country estate in Surrey that could be fully hired, so we had the privacy we desired. It also meant all our guests could stay over and also have the privacy. The ceremony was to take place in a large orangery it was all glass, letting the lovely sun come through. The aisle flowers would be gypsophilia and the bridesmaids were to be wearing different shades of blue. My bridesmaids were Lando's sisters Flo and Cis, Lola my best friend and finally Isaac would be my Man of Honor.
The reception was taking place in 3 large tipi tents with the theme continued, the weather was set to be dry so the venue had set up lights throughout the trees, it was truly wonderful.

We had just finished dinner with our families, Max and P, Lola, Isaac and Valentina. I knew it was time to say goodbye to Lando until the morning. We stood at the bottom of the sprawling staircase as our families stood talking with one another. I hold my hand in Lando's.
"I don't want to say goodbye" I pull a sad face.
"It's only until tomorrow when I make you my wife"
"Technically I'm already your wife but unfortunately we just couldn't remember that wedding" I laugh.
"That is true. Just think baby it won't be long. Plus you have Lola staying with you tonight so you won't be alone"
"Come on lovebirds say your goodbyes, we need to get some sleep" my father jokes as he places a hand on Lando's shoulder.
I look to Lando and smile. Surprisingly Lando and my father get on really well, there love for golf and racing, and obviously me.
Lando pulls me in for a kiss, and we can hear people whistling causing us to break apart.
"I love you Belle"
"I love you too. See you tomorrow"
With that we go our separate ways. I was staying in the honeymoon suite with Lola as it was the biggest room in the house. The other bridesmaids would be joining us in the morning to get ready. Lando was down the hall in a spare room and would be getting ready with Max in the morning.
Me and Lola lay in bed watching The Longest Ride, it was one of our favourites as my phone pings. It was a message from my mum.

Mum

Mum: Sorry I couldn't be there. You know I would if I could. I'm so happy that you have found someone who truly makes you happy. This makes me happy. I wish you a long and happy marriage, hopefully longer than what mine was - just joking. I love you Arabella, hope to see you soon. Mum x

Trust my mum to message me something like that. We hadn't seen each other in so long, I could hardly remember what it was like having her around. I couldn't help but hyper fixate on the 'Hopefully longer than what mine was' I used to think my parents had a lovely marriage filled with love, well that's what it seemed like but it wasn't. It made me question whether me and Lando would turn out this way.

"I erm, just need to go make a call" I murmur to Lola as I get up from the bed grabbing my dressing gown.
"Err, ok" She looks to me confused and continues to watch the film. I leave the bedroom and head down the hall, quietly knocking on the door waiting for them to answer. The door opens to a confused face.
"Baby, what are you doing here?" Lando looks to me. I slide past him and into the room, he closes the door behind me and heads to where I'm sat on the bed. "Belle what's wrong?" I show him the message from my mother which I watch him read a few times. "Well that's lovely of her" he sarcastically responds.
"Promise me we won't end up like them. That this, what we have is the real thing. It's for life"
Lando kneels down in front of me and grabs my hands.
"This, is for life. Me and you forever. Nothing is going to change that. I love you too much"
"That's what I needed to here" I place my hands on his face before kneeling down and placing a kiss on his lips. "I'm so nervous for tomorrow and then that message came through and I just needed to see you"
"It's ok. It's good to be nervous, you're marrying this hot piece of meat" He jokes as he gestures to his bare chest. I'd not even noticed he wasn't wearing a shirt and was just in his boxers.
"Part of me wished it was just me and you. What if I fall?"
"You won't fall. When you're walking down the aisle just look at me and everything will be ok. I will make sure you get to me, ok?" He looks to me for reassurance.
"Ok" he places another kiss on my lips.
"Right, you should be getting back. Lola will be wondering where you are and it's bad luck to see the groom before the wedding."
"I thought you didn't believe in superstitions?"
"I don't but I know you do. Now come on." We both head to the door, placing one last kiss on his lips before I head back to my room.
