3 months later....
I hadn't heard from Belle since she left me outside the club. I'd tried to call and message but she had blocked me on everything. Isaac had come for all her belongings and said it was best he didn't tell me where she was. I did see the odd post from instagram groups showing Belle had followed her dream and was due to be taking part in the Red Bull Hardline in Australia in December.
I'd just raced the last race of the season. Ever since I came back from Summer Break I performed terribly, my mind was too focused on what I'd lost.
It had now passed a year since my Vegas wedding to Belle, we didn't even get to celebrate that, nor did we plan that wedding. Instead I was flying home to an empty apartment that no longer felt like home. It was once full of love but now it just reminds me of painful memories.
I close the apartment door behind me, dumping my suitcase in the doorway and heading to the fridge for a bottle of water. I grab a bottle before closing the fridge door and leaning on the worktop opposite. I notice the wedding invitation that was stuck the fridge. Isaac was due to get married this weekend. He'd texted me last week to say I was still invited and that there was no bad blood between me and him. I contemplated for a while whether I should go but it meant I could see Belle.I head into the chapel with other guests in a little local town in Spain. I sat at the back out of the way, I looked around to see if I could see her. I hadn't spotted her yet, but she had to be. The ceremony was due to start and I watch as Isaac takes his spot at the front of the chapel. One by one the three bridesmaids make their way down to the front of the chapel, that's when I spot her. There she was stood in a sage green long satin dress, stood at the side of Isaac. He must have made her his best woman, that's when our eyes meet. A million thoughts cross my mind, how that should have been me and her, how I should have been looking into her eyes as we exchanged vows, the what could have been pained me. Her eyes don't lock on me for long before she looks to the doors as Valentina walks down in her wedding dress. The ceremony was beautiful from what I remember I was too busy staring at her. How she smiled as she watched her best friend marry his childhood sweetheart. The ceremony ended and everyone headed to the beach club for the wedding reception. I tried to look for her again but she was nowhere to be seen. I sit talking to the people on my table, I was sat with Isaacs Aunt, Uncle and cousins. I notice the bridesmaids walking in and there she was walking in, but she wasn't alone. She was with a young guy, she looked happy. We're they together?
She sits down at the head table at the side of Isaac and the guy sits at a table in front. I stare at her and then at him, I couldn't work it out. I hadn't met anyone else, I was too heartbroken to so how could she? Who am I kidding I broke her heart and now I expect her not to be happy.
The clink of the glasses draws my attention back to her. She stands and the room falls silent.
"Hello everyone and welcome to the wedding of two amazing people Isaac and Valentina. I'm Belle, I've known Isaac and Valentina since I was little and they've been a constant presence in my life. I've got to witness there love over the years and watch how it grows with them and it's a truly beautiful thing. I could tell you silly stories about them both but I thought I would say something beautiful instead. ' True love is rare, and it's the only thing that gives life real meaning'
Her eyes look to mine with a glazed look before looking to elsewhere in the crowd, what was she trying to tell me?
"Thank you everyone for been here today and for celebrating two amazing people. To Isaac and Valentina"
She sits down and I notice she takes a huge sip of her wine, I smile, she must have been so nervous.
The night continues and people were now up and dancing, I'd not moved from my seat other than to go for a drink or the toilet. I just watched her, she'd talked to a few people and was dancing with the other bridesmaids on the dance floor, she lit up the room wherever she went.
"Beautiful isn't she" Isaac smiles to me as he sits down at the side of me.
"You're very lucky, Valentina is beautiful"
"Come on, we all know that's not who I'm talking about"
"She is. How she doing?"
"To be honest, not that great. She really misses you but you broke her heart. She has her own place in Monaco you know, not that far from you actually. She's competing in the Hardline next week. But something is still missing"
"I tried to contact her but she blocked me"
"Maybe she was expecting you to go after her, to show her that the love you had for her was real and it was worth fighting for"
"Is that what she told me?"
"She didn't need to tell me" he smiles. "I best get back to my bride"
Belle is left alone on the dance floor so I use the opportunity to head over to her.
"May I have this dance?" I look to her.
"Sure"**Play Dive by Luke Combs**
I place my left hand on the small of her back and the other grabs her arm, she places her remaining arm around my back around the shoulder.
"How have you been?" She asks.
"I've been better, glad the season is over with"
"Yeah I saw it had finished"
"How have you been? I see you finally went ahead and signed up to Hardline"
"Yeah it's not that far away. I kinda thought why the hell not and signed up for it. Isaac and Luke have been helping me train for it"
"Is Luke the guy you walked in with?" I asked inquisitively
"Yeah it is. It's Valentina's brother in law"
"Oh so he's married?"
"Yes to her sister Clara"
Thank god for that. That meant they weren't together and she was single.
"Isaac was saying you had your own place in Monaco now?"
"Yeah. Well sort of. It's my dad's place, he gave it to me. He's decided to take a step back from a few things and live a slower pace of life with Liss. Well I say that but he still gets involved with things, he's always asking Nate how things are going"
"Oh so Nate is head of the company now? How is things with your father?"
"Yeah my dad made him CEO, Dad still owns the company but he's letting my brother run the company obviously with advice from him. Things are well, we have a pretty healthy relationship. I thought he was going to lose his head about Hardline but he's actually coming with me. He's one of my sponsors. How is your family?"
"They're good, they miss you though"
She looks to me with a pain in her eyes. I really had truly broke this girls heart and part of me didn't know how or if I could fix it.
"I miss them too. I saw Max and P not that long ago, I see they've moved in to a new place. They let me stay there when I was in London last month"
Max didn't say she'd been in touch, then again he was still mad at me about the whole bet situation, said I was a fool for what I had done.
"Belle, I'm sorry. I really do miss you" She doesn't respond. "I fell in love with you when we were building your bike. It was at that moment that I knew that life without you would be boring and unthinkable. I know I have a lot of work to do if you give me a second chance and I will spend every single day showing you how much I do love you"
"Lando...I"
"Belle, Valentina has asked if you can come help her out of her dress. They're about to head off and apparently you're the only one who knows how to unfasten the dress" One of the bridesmaids interrupts us. For god sake of all moments, I had no idea what she was about to say.
"Yes, I will be right there" She looks to me before letting go. "Thanks for the dance.
With that she walks off and I don't see her again.
