Chapter 13: Someone New

(Caspian POV)

I watched her walk away from me, again. For some reason I can't say what I want to say when I need to, and I know we have something I can feel it whenever I am around her but I just don't know what that something is exactly. I am not going to give up something I have with Jaceyln without knowing for sure what I have with Riley is actually real and not just some fantasy of best friends being more than that. I've messed up a lot of relationships and I've been heartbroken to many times and I don't want to go through that again because of Riley. Watching her walk away was probably what I needed to do but it wasn't what I wanted, so I ran after her. I didn't know what I was going to say but I needed to say something, anything I couldn't let her just walk away not knowing I care about her. I caught up to her and yelled out "Riley wait!" She turned around to me and yelled back "No I've waited long enough, your silence told me what I needed to know." I grabbed her hand and said "What does this tell you." I pulled her tightly in my embrace and kissed her, and she let me it was almost like she was weak in her knees with every touch we exchanged. 

I pulled away from her and said "Riley I don't know what this is yet, but I want to figure it out." She smiled at me with her pearly whites and said "well let's figure it out, let's escape it all, stop thinking and just feel for once." She searched my eyes for my approval and I gave it to her, I kissed her forehead and said "I know the perfect place." She laughed and said "Ill sober up and you can pick me up from my apartment, do you need directions?" I shook my head at her and said "I think I got it, ill find it right across from mine." We both laughed at each other and walked towards our apartments, I got inside of my apartment and noticed everyone at the party had left. I walked into my bedroom and found Jaceyln sleeping, I wrote a note on the bed and left it for her to read.

"Hey love, I have to go visit my family tonight and tomorrow. Something came up and I have to go back home, I didn't want to wake you so I left this for you." 

I sat the note on the bed and sighed. I really am becoming my worst nightmare, leaving my girl at home to be with someone else even if it was Riley I was with. I looked in the mirror and thought to myself "I am turning into my father." I grabbed my overnight bag and walked out of the apartment, I knocked on Riley's door and she answered quickly. I looked at her and a huge smile came on my face, no matter what she always had a way of making feel amazing. I kissed her one last time and said "Let's go." She grabbed my hand and her bag and said "Where are we going?" I looked back at the beautiful girl behind me and said "It's a surprise, trust me."
