You Could Be Happy

Chapter 39: You Could Be Happy 

(Caspian's POV)

Last night was different, it was just us being best-friends like we use too. Nothing complicated, nothing dealing with us just us talking about our fears and life. I have fears of being a father, of marrying Jaceyln of pleasing my family and company. I felt as if the world was weighing on my shoulders, and as the oldest in the family I had to take care of everything and put my needs aside. Riley had fears of seeing her mom and how that's messed her up, how she has fears herself and others. We just laid next to each other and talked, talked like we haven't in a long time. 

When I woke up she was gone, she left me a note so I read it.

"Caspian I know you have your fears about today and the rest of your life after this day, but just know you will be an amazing father. If she just gets an ounce of your love she will be just fine, you have a big heart and now you have room for her in it. I understand that this isn't what you wanted but you still did the right thing regardless and for that I will always love you. Don't focus on who you are marrying, just focus on what your giving your daughter. A family and that's something I never had, and it's something you and your baby deserve. Somethings are fate and we have to accept that fate, and this was fate. I accept it and now you need to, and you will by walking down that aisle and saying I do... I love you. You could be happy, Caspian..."

That letter gave me hope, a different kind of hope. Not that Riley and I will make it back to each other because we already have, but as friends. That gave me hope that everything will be okay, that I will be okay. I got up from the bed and into the shower, after today everything was going to change.

(Riley's POV)

I looked into the mirror finally finishing my make up and hair and called for Jasmine "Can you come look at me and tell me what you think?" Jasmine stomped in the room and said "Riley you aren't even dressed yet." I sighed and pouted "I know but what do you think of my hair and make up?" Jasmine examined me up close and said "You look beautiful and natural." I nodded my hair and said "Thanks Jasmine." She walked back into her room to finish getting dressed, I looked into the mirror one last time before putting on my dress. I had my hair pulled half up and half down, and I curled my hair in tiny little ringlets for the down part. I did my make up on the natural side, I had on a nude pink lipstick and gold to brown eye shadow on and slight bronze color on my cheeks.  I got into my dress and zipped it up, it was a ivory knee length tight halter dress with pink lace flaring out. The wedding colors were Pink and Mint, so I followed the pink look throughout my outfit ending it with pink pumps. 

I walked into Jasmine room and said "Wow... You look good." She smiled and said thanks, she had on a mint longer dress that was strapless. She had on mint wedges and her hair was all pulled to the side with loose waves. She had on just mascara and lipstick on, and she looked amazing. I opened the door to find Hayden dressed in a nice black suit and mint bow tie, he was in the wedding so he had to dress like all the other groomsmen. We left for the wedding early so he could practice the flow, he looked at me and said "You look beautiful Riley, absolutely beautiful." I smiled and Jasmine bluntly said "let's go." We nodded and headed to the car, Jasmine was in the mood today like something was bothering her but I didn't want to ask and ruin the day. 

We arrived at the huge chapel and got outside the car. The outside was filled with beautiful greenery like vines growing all around, and sunflowers and roses. Birds were flying all around chirping and the band was setting up, they had a violinist and a pianist and a singer. They were practicing the songs and it just sounded beautiful. Everything was beautiful, there was gold lace down on the floor leading you in the chapel. The chapel was filled with pink roses on the floor with the gold lace, and white columns everywhere. I gasped entering the huge church, a tear fell from one eye and Jasmine grabbed my hand and whispered "Everything will be okay.." I nodded my head and said "Yes it will." 

Jasmine saw Caspian's dad and his brothers so she looked at me and said "Excuse me for a second babe, I will be right back." I raised an eyebrow at her and watched her walk away towards an empty room. I ignored it and went into the bathroom, trying to talk myself into staying.

(Jasmine's POV) 

I walked into an empty side room and gave Allan a look to follow me, I had to tried one more time to see if he told Caspian the truth or not before he sealed his fate. I pulled him into the room and he said "Well Jasmine you look astonishing." I put my finger up and said "Save it. Did you tell Caspian?" He looked down at his shoes avoiding eye contact and said "No I havent." I blew up on him, "Why the hell haven't you told him? He deserves to know that girl he is marrying is a lying whore!" He contiuned to avoid eye contact with me and said "You have to understand I don't want to loose my son again, last time a girl broke his heart this badly he ran off and I didn't see him for three years. As A father I can't deal with that again." I slammed my hand down on the table next to us and yelled "NO as a father you have a duty to protect your son, you have a duty to care about his needs more than your own. He deserves to live a happy life with someone he loves and not be forced into something espically all built on a lie." I walked over to him put my hands on each side of his face and made him look me in the eyes, he stared into my deep browns eyes and I said "Tell him, you will regret it if you don't. Caspian deserves to be happy Allan. Don't make him live the life you have had to for so many years."

(Caspian's POV) 

I was getting dressed in the dressing room with all my boys, my twin brothers, Hayden, Kenny and my cousin Marco. My father walked in the room but he looked very disheartened, I walked over to him and asked "Pops is everything okay?" My father could barley look me in the eyes all he did was mumbled "I need to speak to you alone son." I was worried by how he was acting so I told everyone to clear the room, I sat down on the couch next to my father and he looked at me and said "Son I love you so much, and I see myself everytime I look at you. You are so selfless, responsiable, and compassionate and I am so sorry you keep having to go through so much." I looked at him in confusion and asked "Go through what pops?"  He put his hand on my knee and said "Jaceyln lied to you about everything, son you are not the father of her child. She lied to you to get you to stay away from Riley and marry her. You guys moving to New York was all apart of her plan and when Riley came back she got pregant by someone to keep you from reigniting anything. Everything she has told you is a lie son." 

Nothing he just said make sense, why would she go through all this trouble to lie? I looked at my father with anger and yelled "How do you know?" My father looked me in the eyes and yelled out "Jasmine come in please." Jasmine opened the door and walked over to me, and said "After the acident with Riley I walked in on Jaceyln telling Riley everything, she said all this to Riley while she was highly mediciated and sleep and she didn't hear me come in the room." Tears started to flood down my face and I could barley speak, the only thing that would come out was "It all was a lie... Everything was a lie..."
