It didn't matter that she had potential and a  drive to succeed because those around her, the ones who were supposed to support her and want the best for her, were careless with her. And when she needed someone to be at her side to simply understand her, to help her see what matters and what's important in this world that she grew to hate, she found no one there. She had to go through it alone, and she didn't like what she realized once she got to the other side. She was filled with regret for wasting her time living a life devoid of meaning. Letting others confuse her and put her down. Not being aware enough to take control of her life and see the right path. Her childhood, her adolescence, gone with nothing worthwhile to show for it. Her strive and ambition to do something in this world whittled away over the years. And now she's unprepared for the way the world works. She dreamed of being independent as a child from those who were the cause of her pain, but now the world seems impossible and daunting to her. And it seems to her that there's nothing left for her here.

She may not want to forgive others that put her through this just yet, but she is ready to forgive herself.
