Had she been more aware then, saying what was on her mind and doing what needed to be done. She wouldn't have allowed others to affect her life. She wouldn't have let pain and bitterness overtake her. She wouldn't have been confused. She wouldn't have isolated herself from the world. She wouldn't have taken her future lightly. She wouldn't have wasted her time expecting, hoping for something better, something she'd find out she wasn't going to get from those around her. She wouldn't have regrets because she'd have known what truly matters.

She has seen that they are family in name only. She wishes she could go back to those days where it didn't hurt her as much when she was excluded. Where she'd gotten used to it, where she expected it, where she welcomed it. Those days where she thought she had someone, something. Those days where she was ignorant of the consequences, ignorant of their intentions and motives. Those days where she had a shred of hope. Those days where the embers hadn't yet been extinguished completely.
