The town was finally ready for the party. From her position on Toothless, Elsa looked down at the town square where the party would be held.
She could feel her heart beating wildly in her chest as she thought about what she and her friends were trying to pull off.
What if they got caught? What if they didn't save Hiccup in time? What if he ended up... dead?
Elsa swallowed the lump in her throat. She was not about to let that happen. As long as she could remember she trained to be a musketeer. To protect the Royal family.
If that meant, breaking out of jail she would do it. For Hiccup. For Arendelle.
She as the sun slowly began to sink below the horizon. "We should head back down" she said to her friends. "We have a big night ahead of us".
Izzy nodded, while Audrey squealed in excitement. "This will be great" she gushed. "Just think! Masked strangers save the prince from his darkest hour"!
Izzy and Elsa looked at each other and shook their heads.
Audrey!
Anyways Elsa guided Toothless down to the clearing in the forest. "Stay close to the party" she told Toothless as she slid off. "But don't get caught".
Toothless roared and waddled off into the woods. Elsa pulled her new sword out of her boot. She ran her fingers along it and sighed. "You ok" Audrey asked.
Elsa took a deep breath and slid the sword back into her boot. "I'm perfect".
Izzy slid the handles if her whips in her boots and wrapped the actual whip part around her boots. Audrey was using her sling shot like a headband.
"Um Elsa" Izzy asked.
"Hmm".
"What if the musketeers decide to check the cell? Or what if Hiccup decides to check the cell"?
Elsa froze. She didn't think about that. "Well we'll just have to be back in the cell before anyone checks".
"And the other girls" Audrey asked.
"One word" Elsa said, "Toothless. He got them in, he can get them out".
"You just better hope your right" Izzy sighed. Elsa smiled, "when have I ever been wrong". Izzy glared at her.
"Ok, ok" Elsa through her hands in the air. "Maybe I messed up in the past"! "That's an understatement" Izzy mumbled.
Elsa chuckled just as Anna entered to clearing. "There you are" she gasped for breath and ran over to them. "Your masks" she said, pulling out three different. Each the color of the dresses.
They sparkled in the sinking sun and each had a bright white gem in the middle. "Beautiful" Audrey gasped and took the mint green one. "Amazing" Izzy commented and took the purple one".
"Thank you" Elsa smiled as she took the ice blue one. Anna nodded. "I have to go now. I'll see you at the party".
The girls nodded as Anna started to leave. "Oh and Elsa"?
Elsa glanced at the princess, "yes". Anna smirked. "Just so you know, Hiccup is extremely worried about you".
Elsa flushed with embarrassment. Anna continued. "As Jack is about Audrey". This time Audrey turned red.
Izzy was laughing so hard her own face turned red. "Oh shut up" Audrey stuttered. "Guys" Elsa cried, getting their attention. "We have to head to the party! It's starting"!
The three of them listened to the sound of music that filled the air.
"We need to go" Audrey gasped and quickly pulled on her mask. Elsa and Izzy copied her actions and rushed through the forest and to the edge of town.
"Is it bad I'm excited and nervous at the same time" Audrey asked, her eyes sparkling. Elsa smiled and shook her head. She looked around and spotted the Royal family, along with Hans and Jasper, walking towards the party, escorted by multiple musketeers.
Her gaze was was instantly on Hiccup. He had no idea Hans was out to get him. She had thought about telling him but she didn't want to hurt his feelings and his trust in his cousin.
Elsa glanced over at Audrey only to see her staring straight at Jack. Elsa looked over at Izzy who rolled hey eyes. She sent her a 'lovestruck' look.
And Elsa agreed. She never thought she'd see the day she and one of her best friends had fallen for royalty.
And Izzy... well she wasn't a girl who had crushes. Neither was Elsa but Hiccup had gotten to her.
Elsa slightly smiled. 'Im here to protect him, not fall in love with him' she thought. 'Well maybe I can do both'.
She snapped back to reality when the Royal trumpet rang through the air. She quickly turned to her friends. "Come on" she whispered.
Quickly and quietly the girl hurried over and slipped into the party, unseen. That had gone better that expected. It helped that they weren't the only ones wearing masks. Others had already put some on.
"Presenting" Luke called to get everyone's attention. "King Zachary and Queen Annabelle"!
A loud cheer rose from the audience as the king and queen bowed politely. "And" Luke continued, "prince Hiccup and Jack. And princess Anna".
The cheering continued.
Anna stole a glance at Elsa and winked. Elsa winked back and slightly waved.
Hiccup scanned the growning crowd. Behind his mask he inwardly groaned. What he wouldn't give to be up in the clouds with Toothless and Elsa right now.
"Enjoy the party" Luke finished. Hiccups head snapped in his direction. Had he been talking the whole time?
Opps
He looked around the crown and almost every single girl was batting their eyelashes at him and Jack. "Have fun" Jack whispered to him. Hiccup let out a small groan as he and his family migrated into the crowd.
A lovely song was playing and people began dancing. Hiccup looked around, boarded out of his mind. Then he saw a girl with platinum blond hair. She saw him, tried to keep from blushing and quickly turned away.
Hiccups eyebrows rose as he smiled. 'Maybe she'll act normal'. He smiled and walked over to her.
