Chapter 39

"Are you guys on your way now?" Fernando said over the speaker in the car, we had him connected through bluetooth. 

"yes, we're literally driving as we speak" I told him. 

"Well, if you wanted to be here by the time I gave you, you should have left twenty minutes ago" 

"That is when we left" Charles helped me out. 

"Ok, but if you're even ten minutes late I'm holding it against you" He argued back. 

"Whatever, Feliz Navidad Nando" I rolled my eyes and hung up the phone "He is absolutely waffling the drive from ours to his is two and a half hours, there is three hours till when he told us to get there" 

"There is no worries my love, it'll be worth it in the end" He smiled over at me from the drivers seat in the Ferrari 488 Pista. 

"I know, I just hate his nagging sometimes, but it's Christmas eve, positivity and all that" I breathed out. 

"Exactly, we'll be back at ours tomorrow and boxing day and then we're with the rest of them" He squeezed my thigh through my joggers "Lando said his parents are excited to have everyone there, it'll be great" 

"I feel bad like invading their space" We were going to the Norris household for new years, the rest of them were staying at a nearby hotel but Cisca insisted Charles and I stay with them, I tried to tell her it was fine, but she is very persistent. 

"Don't Lando said she loves having people round" 

"And I feel bad for Kells, she can't even drink on new years, she's gonna have to put up with all of us, dead sober" Kelly and Max found out she was pregnant back in October, initially Max freaked the fuck out, I told him he needed to sort himself out or I would, needless to say he did and they've been stronger for it. 

"Can't be worse than halloween, that was bad, and I highly doubt Lando will wanna get black out like that around his parents, and his sister is there, she just had a kid" Charles said as I leant to the back seat so I could scratch Lucky. 

"I forgot about that, Lando loves Mila, he constantly sends me vlogs with her and Max" I didn't mean our Max, I was talking about Max Fewtrell, he's friends with Lando, I've never really spoken to him, but he seems pretty funny. "Lucky is so big now, it's actually scary how much she's grown" 

"I know, you've mentioned it only four hundred times over the last week" He gave e a cheeky smile. 

"Shut up, it's just weird" She was still my absolute baby though, only she could no longer fit in the palm of my hand. 

"Yeah no, I get you, I just can't wait for Mattia to shit himself when we go back in next season with her" He sounded evil when he spoke, I couldn't help myself but burst out laughing. 

"You sounded like a disney villain babe" He just looked back at me dead serious as I continued laughing "Like a French Scar, I can't" He just shook his head at me. 

We spent the car journey either chatting or in comfortable silence with the Spanish radio in the background. When we pulled up outside Fernando's I had to stop Lucky from jumping into the front seat with excitement, although difficult it was quite funny really. 

Once Fernando's gates closed behind our car and we'd parked up, I just let her out to run across his driveway, I ran straight to the door so Charles would have to clean it up if she did a shit. 

"Hola mija, I missed you so much" Fernando had an apron on and he stank of seafood, I got an absolute waft of it when he hugged me. 

"I missed you too, what are you cooking?" I closed the door behind me, Charles and Lucky would join us inside in a minute.
