Before nightfall yesterday, Moontown was released from the terror that imprisoned them for almost a week. The profiling team left immediately after the coroner confirmed that the body delivered by two teenagers was Rupert Lexington. From the gloomy vibe that blanketed the town, it finally returned to its naturally welcoming and cheerful vibe. Children are back to playing in the streets of their neighborhood, and those who left have finally returned. But the cherry on top of it all was the recognition that the town's heroes received.
Ken Felip Jaeger and Joshua Alexander became famous overnight. All of Moontown was now treating them like celebrities. Everywhere they go, people want to take pictures of them and with them. They have been receiving gifts from the townspeople, and as the days passed by, more and more reporters from different news networks, locally and internationally, were coming to get an exclusive interview with them. Their heroism and fame even helped boost the town's popularity and tourism.
Breaking News: King announced a national celebration of heroism to honor two teenage townies.
Arcadia has always been a home of heroes and warriors from the old ages to the new millennium. We, Arcadians, are born from the blood of noble warriors, and my heart is swollen with pride. Two young but incredibly brave Arcadians came face to face with evil, and despite the danger, they held their ground and prevailed. I am both honored and proud to be the king in this generation, and in the name of my forefathers and all that came before us, I will come to Moontown to award the highest honor this country has ever known to the heroes of Moontown.
The whole town rejoiced, knowing that their beloved king would grace them with his presence to honor their beloved heroes. Preparation immediately began, and the town hall became busy ensuring the security and smoothness of the program when the royal family arrived. Every family started decorating their homes to welcome their king and crowned prince. But there was one person unhappy with the circus, Ken.
Even when he was the star player of Preston High's basketball team, he never enjoyed the attention. It was a good thing that Josh was always there for him to make things easier.

"You've already drawn so much attention to yourself, kid. Keep your head down." Maya secretly shakes her head.
Their father has always been distant. She knows that she should have gotten used to it, but every time her brother achieves something and their father acts as if it was never a big deal, she feels angry. Without saying another word, Ken walks out of the house, and Maya follows closely behind. The day feels different, not just for the whole town but for her. Something inside her changed, and she couldn't figure out what or why.
The whole ride to the school, Maya remained silent. She kept her attention to the people happily going on with their lives. Those who recognized their car waved at them with smiles on their faces. They, indeed, are grateful for what her brother and his newfound friend did for the town. Girls are giggling as they follow the car and wave at Ken like maniacs. Stupid teenagers! She thought to herself as she shook her head.
"Hi, Ken!"
"Hello, Ken!"
"Good morning, Ken!"
"OMG! You're so handsome!"
"Gosh! I'm pregnant!"
"I'll graduate as a valedictorian if Ken becomes my boyfriend."
Maya feels like her head is about to explode because of the girls' reaction towards her brother. Ken is definitely handsome; there is no question about it. The funny thing is that girls, and even older women, are always like that towards him, even in Preston. Why am I feeling this way? She keeps asking herself, but the answers are nowhere to be found.
