In the days that followed, Moontown somehow went back to normal. Those who came because of the Northern Lights had already left, and the Jaegers finally sent their hunters home. It had been four days since Ken's parents went to help their unit in Earl, and his friends had been staying with them. From day one, Maya had been complaining because she felt like she was in a frat house.

Before the sun rose, Vester was already in the kitchen, cooking their breakfast. He didn't feel alone for the first time in a very long time. No matter how chaotic they were together, he felt happy. Even with Josh, whom he hated so much when he learned the truth, Vester discovered there was so much more about him. As he sang his favorite song, he thought of his friends' favorite breakfasts. A smile formed on his lips when he remembered how Pablo danced like a moron while saying his favorite.

"You're up early," Pablo said sleepily, scratching his eyes. His long hair was messy.

"I wanted to cook for you, guys," Vester said proudly.

"You know how to cook?" Pablo asked in disbelief.

"You just insulted me. How do you think I survive living alone if I don't know how to cook?"

"Oh, right. Sorry. Here, let me help you."

Vester's bubbly personality matched perfectly with Pablo, who had always been a sucker for silly jokes and banters. While the sun rose in the morning sky, Justin woke up from a bad dream. He ran downstairs and found two of his friends laughing after checking in on Ken, who was still asleep, and Josh, who was nowhere to be seen. Pablo and Vester looked at him in confusion when he arrived in the kitchen, panting.

"What happened to you?" Vester asked, holding back laughter.

"Justin, are you okay?" Being the natural big brother, Pablo immediately approached Justin and led him to sit down.

"I had a bad dream," Justin said, staring straight into Pablo's eyes. "We all died."

"What the fuck are you talking about?" Joshua, who just arrived, blurted out.

"What did you say?" Ken frowned at him. It was evident that he had just woken up, too.

"I don't know why I dreamed of something like that; I don't even know how. I just saw it." Justin was about to cry, but Pablo and Josh patted his shoulder and smiled at him, which was enough for him to calm down and smile back at them.

"I won't let anything happen to any of you," Josh promised.

"We will not let anything happen to any of us." Pablo corrected him.

"Are you guys done? You're so gay." No one noticed Maya was standing behind Ken. She had her usual sour face and went straight to the food that Pablo and Vester prepared.

They all laughed in unison because of her birdnest hair. She didn't even care that she wasn't wearing her left slipper. The mood instantly changed when Vester set the table and told everyone to take a seat.

Six teenagers fending for themselves under one roof without supervision was like a survivor-themed game show. With Joshua and Pablo being the oldest, Maya thought they would step up and take responsibility, but she was wrong. After breakfast, they took turns taking a bath, and one after the other, they pulled a prank. She was genuinely happy that her brother got to experience what ordinary boys his age do with their friends. Although a part of her felt like as Ken learned what it felt like to be normal, he was slowly drifting away.

Before they all went downstairs, the five cleaned their mess and returned everything to normal. Ken had a bright and beautiful smile the whole time, no matter how Maya tried to hide it. She didn't like how her brother acted. Am I being a bad sister? she asked herself as she prepared herself. When she left her room, Joshua stood in front of her door with a serious look on his face.
