You would never find patience and calmness in an angry and vengeful werewolf. When provoked, they were known to be as fierce and violent as their animal spirit, and as the pack prepared for what was to come, their darker nature could be felt pulsating. Even the younger wolves were prepared to join the war, but the elders forbade them. Even the women joined the pack in their mission to get their young one's body.
As the rest of the town was busy with their regular routine, the Raes ran through the forest carrying all sorts of weapons. It was like the Dark Ages when people carried torches and axes to hunt their foes. The Alexanders could immediately hear the sound of their heavy footsteps from miles away, but they didn't care; they wanted the vampires to know they were coming for them.
"Werewolves. How bold." Four vampires welcomed them before they could get close to the manor's gate.
"Where is your prodigal prince?" Chris asked the vampire as he pointed a crossbow at him.
"Which prince?" Lucas appeared beside him, looking like a prince from a fairytale book. He looked more handsome under the morning sun.
"Give me my son back," Elena demanded threateningly before blasting the heart of one of the vampires, another way to ensure the death of an immortal.
"You shouldn't have done that—" One of the remaining vampires was about to attack Elena, but Lucas blocked his way. Chris had faced some vampires before, but Lucas was faster than he thought.
"You, my lady, are a fierce woman. I love fierce women, but as much as I want to help, my brother is not here. We can't find him. If he took your son, I'm sure he had a reason. We can't help you." Lucas addressed Elena with a palpable admiration for her bravery.
"Liar!" A younger wolf yelled angrily, pointing his crossbow at Lucas.
The explosion of tear gases caught their attention, and when Lucas turned to Chris, the alpha smiled at him. He cursed under his breath and ordered the remaining three vampires to come with him. Chris knew the vampires would be ready for them, so he sent some of their people to the other side of the manor to launch a surprise attack. As soon as the surroundings fell silent, Chris and Elena signaled their wolves to attack the manor.
"No!" But as soon as they entered the property, they fell on the ground one by one.
"Wolfsbane!" Chris's cousin coughed and wheezed.
That was when they noticed that the members of their pack were either unconscious or weakened. Elena roamed her eyes around and saw the vampires in the same state as them. Vervain and Wolfsbane. Hunters! She thought to herself, she was right. As the fog disappeared, the shadows of people carrying high-powered guns walked towards them. Each of them shot a vampire or a werewolf with a tranquilizer.
"Seriously?" It was Frederick Jaeger. "Your son is dead, his son is missing, and my son is in the hospital, fighting for his life! This is what you thought to do?"
Arthur Alexander was dragged out of the castle by some hunters who managed to weaken him. They knew it wouldn't be for long, so they chained him using a reinforced steel chain. What shocked the pack was there were five witches using magic to prolong the effect of vervain and wolfsbane on them.
"It wasn't the vampires that killed your son. There is something out there more dangerous than them. I had our scientist check my son's, Justin's, and Vester's blood. They all had an unknown substance in their body that is unknown to us. So if I were you, I would go home and use your pack's strength to find your son." With that, the witches used magic to pull out the wolfbane inside the pack's body and give them their strength back. "Go."

It wasn't the first time Maya worked with her mother on a mission, but she was in awe every time she watched her mother take down much faster and stronger creatures. Louisa Jaeger's precise moves and reflexes were phenomenal, and her quick thinking remained unmatched. She could easily predict their movements no matter how fast the vampires were. While the men rounded up the vampires and the werewolves, Maya accompanied her mother in securing the whole castle with their other hunters. She was surprised that her father decided to intervene. It would have been a big win for them if the two dangerous supernatural creatures would kill each other.
