The mandap is buzzing with DJ and childrens' squeal. Arya is play musical chair with kids almost double of her size. And she is totally enjoying. Meanwhile Mini is sit here among the girlies of her age. Many of them are her ex-college friends but now she can recognize none of them.
A girl asks Preet if she's still in relationship with Mickey and Preet proudly says yes. Almost all of them have a husband or a boyfriend now. Though Mini too, almost, has one... but they can't stop talking about their lovers and she can't start talking about him yet. Disgusting. Boring.
A girl (let's say Swati)- Mini, waise tera koi boyfriend bana ya nahi? Or you're still stuck between these you? (The girl laughs, referring to Preet and Mickey. Everyone starts laughing.)
Preet does not like it. Mini chuckles.
Mini- Yeah, you can say I'm still stuck with them. Kum se kum shaadi toh karwa doon dono ki? (They all laugh again.)
Swati- Aur tu koi relationship m hai k nahi?
Preet- Yeh kahan hogi? Madam kisiko apne dil ki baat batayengi, tab na kuch hoga! (Mini nudges her elbow) Ow!
Neeti- Why-why? Ladka woh hai, he should start. Right Mini?
Mini- Exactly.
Leela- Kab taq wait karegi? Koi aur le gaya usey toh?
Maya- Right. Main toh kehti hoon call him now. And JUST TELL HIM!
Mini- Woah woah woah. Chill girls. Itna kyun phad-phadaa rhe ho.
Jyoti- No no no. You're telling him now.
Mini- But-
"CALL HIM. CALL HIM. CALL HIM" The girls sing in chorus. Everyone in mandap wad staring on them.
Mini- Ok quite. I'll call him.
Very unwillingly she reaches towards her clutch on the table, side glancing Preet who was secretly smirking, ready to enjoy the show. She scrowls at her and takes out her phone.
Mini- Wait, ring ja rha h....
She sighs. Thank God he didn't pick.
Neeti- What happen?
Mini- He's not picking.
Neeti- Got lucky today, huh?
Jyoti- What lucky? It's unlucky.
Neeti- Why?
Jyoti- What why? He's ignoring you Mini.
Swati- Right. Mera boyfriend toh humesha mera phone pick karta hai.
Preet- Yaar, these both are just dating right now.
The girls literally laugh. Mini hates this kind of chit chats.
Maya- Btw, tum dono kab se date kar rahe ho?
Mini- 6 months. (stifgly)
Maya- 6 months already? And he hasn't proposed you yet? (Puts a hand on her throat dramatically)
Neeti- Suspicious. (furrows)
Swati- Red Flag. (laughs)
Mini- Stop it yaar. Meri love life se zyada interesting topic nhi h tum logon ke paas?
Jyoti- Don't get offended. But isn't your boy a lil unromantic to date. Ours are too.
And the girls burst again, including Preet.
