Minho smiled and I went to Jorge's office. "How's she doing?" Brenda asked "just as you'd expect." Jorge said and he looked down and no one said anything. I was looking for a book my parents got me for my 16th birthday, 5 days before my mom got the flare.
I had left it there about a week ago and I was looking through desk drawers to try and find it. I heard honking and looked out the window to see the WCKD car back and now they were getting angry.
I saw Ami and one of them pushed her back into the wall. I ran out of the house and Minho followed. Before I opened the door I looked at him.
"You can't go, they'll see you." I said looking at Minho. "You're in danger if you go out there alone." Minho said looking at me with those eyes, almost tempting enough.
"She's all I have, I need to help her." I said before running out of the house and running over to where they had Ami.
"Get your hands off of her!" I said and pushed the guard off of Ami. "Elodie stay out of this!" Ami said warning me. A guard grabbed my arm and pushed me into the street.
"Bold are we?" A gaurd said smiling at me weirdly making me uncomfortable.
I looked at Ami and motioned for her to run. Janson came over. "Elodie?" Janson said making sure it's me. "What the hell are you doing?! You could've hurt her!" I said yelling at him. "She wasn't being completely honest." Janson said and that made my blood boil.
"You guys are acting crazy! We aren't responsible for your test subjects! Do your damn job and find them on your own!" I said angrily before pulling away from the guard and Jorge made his way out of the house by now.
"What's going on?" Jorge said confused. "They're crazy!" I said completely telling the truth. "What do you expect? They're WCKD." Jorge said and that made me giggle a bit.
"You better watch yourself" Janson said definitely getting angry. "All I mean is you've never had to struggle." Jorge said. "Yes I have." Janson said. "Not like we have." I said to Janson. "Just get her out of here before things get out of hand." Janson said acting as if he could hurt me. Jorge led me away but I ran to find Ami.
"Ami?!" I said getting worried. I ran inside her flower shop and saw broken vases and flowers all over the floor. I carefully stepped around the glass until I reached the counter. I looked behind it and still couldn't find her. I walked to the storage room and it was empty.
"Come on Ami don't do this to me." I said as tears threatened to fall from my eyes. She's the only thing I have left. I was whispering to myself and walked back out of the shop. I saw everyone in the streets checking on each other. "Has anyone seen Ami?" I said. "I'm sorry darling, I haven't." Jamie said. "Sh*t.." I said under my breath.
I kept looking and couldn't find her. I went to her apartment at night and sat on the floor hoping she'd walk through the door any second. I pulled my knees to my chest and took a deep breath. "Ami where are you?" I said through tears.
I ended up falling asleep and woke up around 7 in the morning. Ami still wasn't home so I looked around the city for Her. No one had seen her since yesterday and I am really worried. I was walking towards the grocery store and bumped into someone.
They dropped their book and I crouched down to pick it up. "I'm so sorry, I'm a little bit distracted right now-" I said before looking up at them and saw Minho wearing a jacket with his hood up. He smiled at me and grabbed the book from my hand. "What the hell are you thinking?! Someone could see you!" I said and pushed him into the broken down flower shop.
"Brenda said she needed this so I offered to get it. Where have you been?" Minho said completely changing the subject. "Ami is gone and I need to find her. You need to get back to Jorge's now." I said telling him and he smirked. "Okay mom" Minho said giggling.
I rolled my eyes and left the building. I went in the opposite direction and started walking towards the grocery store again. When I got there I went to the back to see if Jackson was there. Ami's ex husband. "Jackson?" I said seeing if it is him. "Hey kid, what's up?" He said. "Have you seen Ami?" I said still worried.
He laughed a little. "Nope, and to be honest I don't care where she is." He said and that made me a little angry. "WCKD blew up her shop, she could be hurt-" I said. "Like I said, don't care." He said again that made me more mad but I just decided to stop asking.
He walked back into the actual store and I decided to just go to Jorge's after looking for hours. When I got inside I heard yelling, I went upstairs into the main room.
