Darkness surrounds me on every side
A voice in my head tells me to hide
But a voice in my heart speaks to me stronger
It's saying "Hold on a little bit longer
You'll survive the night, you'll make your own way
You'll live to fight another day"
I've been sheltered these past sixteen years
Many nights I cried, drenched my pillow in tears
But now I'm stronger than before
It's time to take a stand! No more!
I'll follow my heart, make my own way
I'll live to fight another day
I'm no stoic princess who wants to win
I'm a regular girl with extremely thick skin
Winning is secondary to the most important thing
With a wild heart and flowing dress I sing
I've survived the night, I paved my way
I live to fight another day
